Keeping Long Boards Straight #woodworking #diy

Показать описание
Want to keep a board straight and flat without having to glue or attach it to a larger assembly? The solution is simply to rip the board in two and glue it back together. Of course, you have to carefully rearrange the ripped parts so their tendencies to warp or cup will be perfectly opposed to one another – Nick demonstrates just how to do this. This procedure also lets you reclaim badly warped lumber that would otherwise be unusable.

Nick also shows several useful jigs and fixtures in this short video. If you’re interested in knowing more about them, here’s where you can see the videos and where you can purchase the plans:

Assembly Table

Precision Saw Sled (with one adjustable fence)

Cutoff Saw Sled Plus (with two fixed fences)

I have to say that videos like these that you produce are the most elegant use of the short video format that I have come across. Most people try to condense as much useless and inaccurate information into one minute as possible to maintain interest, however you take 1 piece of brilliantly useful information and take the minute to explain it clearly, do keep up the great work

This man is the Bob Ross of wood working. I don't even own any of these tools, hopefully someday I will.

I have never been to Kansas or anywhere near it, but I will trust your word those roads are as straight as your masterful jigs and fixtures.

This guy doesn't waste a single second of these short videos. Pure information and I love it.

Absolutely mind-blowing—what a simple, elegant solution to what could potentially be a real doozy of a problem otherwise.

I don't do woodworking myself but I never miss this man's videos he has that old school PBS or local access television vibe to his videos and you always know you're going to come out the other end of the video with more knowledge than before hell even though I don't do woodworking myself these videos seem like they help give me enough knowledge that if somebody wanted me to give them advice or help of woodworking I probably reasonably could because this man's not just a National treasure he's an international treasure.

Having this much experience and all 10 fingers is absolute badass and makes you more rare than a unicorn. This is what top tier education material looks like and there is absolutely nothing in this video that could have been done better. Thank you and my maddest respect, sir. Subbed.

This is one of those things that seems so obvious once it is explained but that I would have never thought to try. Absolutely going to be using this tip soon.

Your woodworking videos are the best I've discovered on YouTube. I've been into building furniture and other items because of a wonderful wood shop teacher. This goes back to 1973, and you could be Mr. Towry's twin. Thank you for keeping my love of woodworking on fire.

So very SMART. The trades have as many geniuses as the professions.
