This looks like the definitive Norlund axe collection to me. Best I've seen so far.

wow! thanks so much for tge kind words! I'm certainly not an expert, still learning. you just showed me 2 double bits IV never seen! just when I thought my collection was complete! I think it may be time for an update video on the old norlund collection. I think one of the coolest things about norlund is the mystery behind them! keep up the good work on restoring them! looking good!

Hey Greg. The axe you brought out at 10:00 I believe is the Canadian Axe. I've only seen photos and advertisements of it.

I'm pretty sure some of these are just late production axes that simply look a bit different.
At the time the morning axes are known to have often been pretty rough as quality had slipped ( happened with American axes in general )
And in general American axes had begun to take on the distorted head shapes we see today from crappy imports.
For example Michigan's look nothing like they once did having much narrower polls now, and Dayton's have gotten much more up sweep in the toe.

BTW I believe that first cruiser size DB you pulled out would be a standard western head pattern, and the second a standard Michigan DB pattern.
