I started at 16:8 to start training myself and went to 18:6 a few weeks later. People shouldn't expect to see big results at 16:8. You may feel better after a while but until you restrict more you won't lose much weight. After a couple of months I got less hungry and went to 20:4 with almost no effort. I dropped a ton of weight at that point. After about 6 months I went to 22:2 and have been there ever since. Unlike most, I didn't restrict myself and literally ate/eat cakes, cookies, candy and chips and did no exercise. My clothes are falling off me.

After 5 days of water fasting my nose pain that I had and been taking cortison for now almost a year it disseperd. It was gone for 1 month. Then I got the flue and now it's back. Now I am planing a new 5 day fast in a couple day because the pain is always so extremely bad. And just the fact that I know i can fast it away makes me so calm and so happy.

Thank you Dr. Mindy, you have really changed my life. The day that I found you I was in a deep depression state and horrible anxiety because my weight and menopause were killing me and on top of that my A1C was so high and the doctor recommended for me to get ozempic! And was just so sad that was the only choice for me. And I told myself there have to be something I could do for myself and my anxiety was so high I started to look at videos in YouTube and I find you there. Since December I have lost 18 pounds and I feel amazing. I love you thank you for being amazing. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Wow Dr. Mindy, this study gives me so much hope. In 2015 I was diagnosed with An autoimmune disease called Primary Biliary Collangitis. Which in other words is the inflammation of the liver bile ducts. The symptoms were elevated liver enzymes. But if not treated can lead to cirrhosis and then liver transplant. I have been on a medication to thin my bile for 10 years. Thank God I have not developed any symptoms but the Dr.s say they don’t have a solution. And that nobody has been in remission from this. Well.. I want to be the first one ☝️ to be. I started intermittent fasting a year ago. But I was not doing it right. Now I am reading Fast Like a Girl 👧 and I am learning so much. I have hope that I can overcome this autoimmune disease. God created our bodies so perfectly that he even gave us the ability to heal and repair. But I guess I did understand how to tap into this. You have been a Godsend. I am very grateful for you Dr. Mindy. Blessings. 😊

I'm 55. Been keto vore? For over a year. Follow 18:6. It was easy to fast once I switched from carbs to fat fueled. I've done a few 24 hour fast without even thinking about it. I was just too busy to eat, no big deal?

I work out every morning 30 minutes. Don't eat until noon. I vary my workouts, usually lifting weights. My testosterone is naturally high, so I hold myself back most of the time but go crazy heavy and intense twice a week. It all feels natural. Gained a lot of strength in the gym while losing body fat!

Beach walks on soft sand and cooling waves once or twice a week morning or evening are the best when we can also get the healthful seabreeze and outdoor exercises embracing beautiful and relaxing nature.
Get into a 5 mins meditation standing in deep seawater almost over the knees before the beach walks can do more wonders with reduction and removal of mental stresses.
I also advocate Intermittent Fasting. I started 16:8 and then went into 18:6 and now i can also do 20:4.
Well presented and inspiring contents as usual Dr Mindy Pelz 👍🥰💪👏

Two months of fasting: lost 17 pounds, got my period back, eliminated joint pain. Happier. Labwork confirms my hypothyroidism is going away. No more day naps.

Good one.
16/8 is my full-time regular eating pattern. Originally got it from Nate Miyaki. I sometimes extend it to 22-24. Once in a while 36-40. I try to go by how I feel. Sometimes a longer fast makes me cringe -- so i don't do it even if it's on the "schedule." Sometimes I throw one in because I feel bleh about food. My number one rule: if I'm not hungry, I don't eat.
I agree with you about fasted training. I always train on "empty."
Funny, how much Adele Davis got right so many years ago!

Hi. Your book was recommended to me by a friend who has survived cancer. She encouraged me to read it to help with my hormone imbalance (irregular cycles) and help with weight loss. I am in my last 30's and I read your book, been watching your videos and have been fasting according to your book 16-18hrs a day, I have done a 3 day fast and working in 36hrs fast monlty for the last 6 months, I walk over 10, 000 steps a day, workout 30min during my fasting window and have only seen a 4lb weight decrease. I have an increase in energy and see great new habits being formed, but I am really discouraged because my cycles are still irregular and I haven't lost weight. Can you help me?

Yes, I remember Bill Phillips well! After each of my two pregnancies I followed his program to lose weight. I still have my before and after photos where I’m holding newspapers😄. I sold his supplements in my gym. I drank his myoplex meal replacement shakes for years. Until he sold his company. I still have his Body for Life book at my gym.
