If Xi Jinping decides that Russia’s maneuvers with North Korea are creating problems for China with the United States and globally with regard to trade issues in Southeast Asia, Asia and globally, that those problems outweigh the benefits of dealing with Russia, then China will exert pressure. And Russia will have to agree to it. Yes and no, because China also needs cheap oil. And China’s economy is flat on its back, not just on its knees. And China is locked in a symbiotic relationship for many things, including transfer of technology with Russia. So it’s a much more complicated world.
