AVAST Free vs MS Defender 2023!

Let's go!! Which one would you trust to protect your data?

Seriously underrated channel, considering how throughout the tests are. As someone who messes around with malware in a VM, I have zero critique. I was unaware that Microsoft Defender was susceptible to having exclusions created by malware, which is something I've never seen before. It is also easy to make exclusions in the Windows firewall as well. Useful for some legit software installations, but malware can abuse that function too easily. I use Defender most of the time, but I like Avast for its ability to ask me, rather than do as it pleases. Great setting. Why do I like the ask me feature? False positives and feeling in control of my own system. For anyone who hates Avast adverts, there should be settings to turn most of them off, and you can use something like NextDNS, or another adblocking DNS, to stop them at the network level. Works for other software adverts as well.

I am an Avast guy, especially since Microsoft will be stopping security updates for Win 10 in 2025.
