Accidentally did this last night. Found a blanket on sale for $6. We scanned it and it turned out to be $2.50

99% of people in Chicago don’t know you can pay for products at a Walmart.

Those shelves at the top are called top stock. It's to put overstock on instead of taking it to the backroom. When walmart resets their shelves some of the items go on clearance that are no longer going to be carried in store. If the shelves are reset but the items on topstock don't get checked they sit up there for a long time. They can end up getting multiple markdowns before they are found.

For the short people... go into the home isle they usually have step stools put it in your cart while you shop then put it back when you're done❤

My local store doesn't do this, they have a clearance aisle full of random crap like thus, but the top shelf is 99% overstock.

Actually when he says "hidden clearance" he doesn't mean it is hiding on the top shelf. Yes it is usually overstock or forgotten stock. Hidden clearance really means that the item has been reduced in the system but the employees have not had time to find the item and put the newest reduced price sticker on the box. You can discover what the new lowest price is by scanning it on phone with the Walmart scanner.

I worked at Walmart 17 years ago and I’ll never forget a woman doing this and finding a baby pack n play for $1. She bought all of them to resell them.

Houston here. I worked inventory management at a big box store for 23 yrs. When I ran across clearance I put in overhead til it dropped lower, sometimes 1cent. Inventory usually will catch it and then gets thrown in the compactor. Perfectly good items. It made no sense to me.
