I never realized until I became an adult how dark and depressing the core of Fry's life is. A man who hated his upbringing and felt so unneeded by those around him he saw being trapped in the future to be a blessing, not knowing until years later into his time in the future how much his family, friends, and dog missed him every day and regretted not telling him he mattered as much as they should've, and as a result his family probably thought he committed suicide off a bridge into water.

When Fry first arrived to the future he thought no one would miss him. It wasn't until a few years later that he learned how much everyone missed and cared about him.

what makes fry so interesting is that he embodies the very things that makes futurama a sweet and funny show but at the same time what makes futurama a sad and emotionally gripping show. while all the characters show moments of this duality, fry represents it the most by far

Fry has the most emotional moments in Futurama. The one thing I find the most heartbreaking, is when his own mom dreaming about his son. Just shows how she misses him. Also Fry and Leela’s growing old together is the most tender and sweetest moment I’ve seen.

I was so happy with Hermes getting another layer to him for the Inspector ep. That song was the cutest and sweetest.

Still remmber Seymour's story to this day one of my most vivid memories of Futurama, that, His nephew Philip and of course Fry and Lela's Hineymoon...
These were all amazing moments that made the show so much deeper...

This show never ceases to amaze me with its blend of emotional drama and silly comedy. Matt Groening and crew really showed their creativity in this series and it makes it endlessly rewatchable. Also, the new season is great. Can't wait for more.

Luck of the Fryish is one of my favorite episodes of any show ever. Such a great twist that just eats at your emotions. I've seen it quite a bit and I still tear up when it all unravels.

The scene with Fry's mom always gets me. I have lost a few close family members and I love when I get to see them in my dreams

Probably the most underrated show. As I’ve gotten older these moments hit way harder. A true masterpiece of a series. Lucky to have watched this growing up.

Seymour reminds me of our family dog where everyone grew up and moved away. Only my father was there when it came time to put him down. He described how he had gotten distemper and when it came time to get him in the car, Toby just hung his head down the entire time. I will always regret not being there for his last days and especially at the vet for his last moments. He gave so much to the family over the years. It makes me angry and full of sadness that in our younger years when we feel we are too 'busy' for anything but our small world that we don't appreciate those around us. It's also hard realization how selfish I was in my younger days. You were loved despite our shortcomings, Toby, and still missed.

Yep, for such a hilarious show it gets surprisingly deep and can hit the emotions unexpectedly.

If Futurama has taught me anything, it's that the future holds nothing but pain, but ... If your heart is full of love for your friends and family, you can make it through anything

Fry’s realizations and the writers depiction of life after he went into the cryofreezer are always so heart wrenching because of their close correlation with death. Fry is dead for an anyone knows in the year 2000 but the show so eloquently shows what impact Fry’s absence has on everyone in his life. Time and time again, Futurama showed how love is never perfect but it is always beautiful and for that it will forever be one of my favorite shows.

When Fry's mom asked him in her dream, what he wanted to talk about and all he did was hug her. That hit me so hard 😢

the scene with fry’s mom is bar none the saddest thing i’ve ever seen in a cartoon. really makes you want to appreciate the little bit of life you get to spend with her. happy mother’s day everybody and tell your mom you love her if you can

It's the music choices, to me, that really sell the emotional moments
"I Will Wait For You" for Seymour
"Baby Love Child" for Leela
"Manchild" for Fry and his mom
And most of all, "Little Bird" for Hermes and Bender
It's the music, man

Dammit, I’m not crying. You are.
For real though, the Seymour story always gets me. I miss you so much Snoop.
