At that point call the police or towing company or even try to pry up the bonnet and disconnect the battery if no ones doing anything about it and only as a last resort

Our 8yr old civic in a lot a cpl blocks from apt, did this, we never heard it. Got similar notes. Inconvenient timing. We never heard it! Hood latch not settling fully down, due to dirt over yrs collecting in front. Issue stopped after we checked yt for answers & just cleaned hood latch. Hasn’t continued. Neighbors were understandably irate. Glad for notes. Had no idea. But it’s a thing.

The cars like 20 years old so they don't have to worry about it getting stolen, it's not in that high demand.

My neighbor's car alarm goes off when their dog barks. It's quite funny.

Dude this is the most annoying thing ever. I had this same thing happen at my apartment complex in AZ having a toddler and not getting even the tiniest amount of sleep I could get because of this. Complained to the owner and complex managers about it and he had to move it throughout the complex and park it because it was that bad. I assume he didn’t have the money to fix it at the time but now I don’t hear it thank goodness.
