Resolution is important, and so is IFOV and object distance. Lower resolution can work fine if you have the right IFOV and object distance. That goes for any resolution. Even the higher resolution shown has the same problems as the lower resolution at greater distance. You could change the lens on a lower resolution camera to get the same pixel density on target at the same distance or a different distance.
