This is the kind of person that would be disgusted to learn that carrots grow in dirt.

I'm a farmer. Washing vegetables is not good before storage, in my province, it's not even allowed. Dirt act as a natural conservative while water is just adding moisture and opens door to mold. Some vegetables HAVE to be washed, like rutabaga, cause they too ugly to sell otherwise. Then we add wax on it. Never just plain old washed. Don't even wash it before putting it in the fridge. Just wash before preparing. It'll avoid you a LOT of stomach bugs and money loss.

EDIT: Also, don't put them in a plastic bag or anything to prevent them from "breating".. May sounds stupid but, the bag makes condensation and then accelerate the growth of mold. Open boxes only🥰

The AI voice is making me think this is just rage bait. There was something similar about stairs and narrow doorways in Amsterdam. Pretty sure someone is trolling.

We bought a loaf of bread in America and it was "fresh" for over 2 weeks. So many chemicals and preservatives.

If i go to the bakery section at any grocery store here in the US and get some of the freshly baked bread with no preservatives, it also goes bad in a day or two. It's almost like that bread was created with the intention of enjoying it while it's fresh and not being shelf stable. They do also have stuff that will last longer, but the EU has a lot more strict guidelines on what can be put into food sold at grocery stores. A lot of places in Europe just prefer the fresh baked stuff also as part of their food culture.

(EDIT: fyi I'm talking about europe, more specifically germany.) Our bread does infact last much longer than a day 💀 Also if ur bread ISN'T going bad EVER, that's so concerning cause whats it ur bread making it not go bad 😭

Check the ingredients on bread packaging. In Europe there are way less/no preservatives.

I find it funny that the video complained about the bread when what she showed is the processed stuff that can in fact stay fresh for several days lol. Where I'm from at least, we considder that kind of bread "toast", and it's not thought of as real bread. REAL bread with no conservatives does only stay fresh for a day or so and then goes stale. (There are ways to get around this, like wetting it and then putting it in the oven.) But I'm sure many Europeans would agree with me that good quality bread is well worth that!

EDIT: Stale after a day or so, meant as in it loses the crisp exterior of soft interior that fresh bread has lol. You can still eat it for 2-4 days before it goes rock hard and dry.

Italian here...yes, in supermarkets we have sliced bread that lasts weeks after opening, and fresh bread sold in bakeries which is meant to be eaten the same day you buy it or the day after. And once it gets hard you keep it, put it in a food processor and make breadcrumbs.
