Chinese knock off TEMU BENCHMADE BUGOUT!!! Beast of a knife. Already discontinued

I expected to break this knife really fast, or at least chip rhe edge after using it to break up FIREWOOD!!!
No damage, razor sharp, no indication of abuse. Why does this Chinese knock off out perform most of my knives ?!??

This knife was pulled very quickly off TEMU after purchase.

I try to buy U S made when I can but real Bugout is $160.00. Clone is $9.00. U S companies are gouging us big time. No way it should be that much difference in price. I have one of each, and won’t be buying any more real ones.

I have a clone model as well that is not quite as well made as the real deal but very close and under $20. The steel is probably 8cr

im pretty sure most of the stress in batoning is going on the body of the knife and not the cutting edge, just like axes split wood by spreading apart the wood with its body

I will never understand why people baton with a folding knife. There are tools for every job. That is not what they’re made for. I get someone doing it for a video to stress test but even then it’s wildly unrealistic because you should never be doing that with your knife if you’re prepared you should have something more substantial to do that should you need to
