I think curly hair is so beautiful and i feel so bad seeing girls not liking it or damaging so badly while straightening it. It makes me so happy when i see girls going back to their curls and self accepting them but i’m sure it was so hard to love it as every other insecurity.

i actually didnt like my straight hair. when i was younger my hair was super straight, and made me look a lot like my mother. but i got the same type of hair as my dad's mom and my hair is wavy now <33

I have curly hair, but i was born with straight hair. Out of the blue my hair began to have waves on the roots and it kept growing that way, all of my hair began to become really frizzy. As a result my mother had my hair rebonded, but i don't like when my hair was rebonded, pin straight hair didnt suit me and the process was a hindrance. So i decided to take matters to my own hands, since no one else in my family knows how to take care and revive my curly hair. I watched several different tutorials to take care of it. And a result my hair became a defining trait of mine, i get recognised by my hair and i get compliments from it ^u^). And i now take pride of my hair, telling my experience

I feel so lucky i've never felt insecure about my curly hair, i always loved them and i still do (even tho i had straight hair as a child but you know...). I've met a lot of people who used to straight their hair COSTANTLY to get rid of their curls/waves.
To be honest i find it understandable, 'cause curls/waves are a PAIN sometimes when you have to take care of them, or maybe just because you want to "fit in" idk. Sometimes i feel a little sad or annoyed because some of those people have such beautiful curls/waves, and it's a pity that they will get ruined in the future, but i also believe that everyone has to do what makes them happy, and that's the important thing.

As someone who has curly hair in Asia, I would tend to get told that my hair is super messy or that I never brush my hair which made me really insecure. I always wished to have straight hair because all my family members had it while I didn't. I wish I could have told myself before that having curly hair is super pretty and unique! Sadly, my mother told me to straighten my hair which has damaged my hair a lot and made the growing process much more slower than usual. i use to love my curls when i was a kid but i started hating them for the past few years. but i’m finally starting to like them again! i have only ever straighten twice: once just for fun and see how long it is, and the other time i was with a friend and she did it for me.
it always makes me sad seeing people who straighten their hair. i know this one person who has curly hair yet i have never seen it curly. she constantly straightens it and it makes me so sad

I stopped straighting my hair two years ago, I had to cut it so it could grow back properly and even though I don't really like having short hair it looks way healtier than before.
