Greetings Jack and thank you BTW for these incredible lessons. After 10 yrs of playing I found myself stuck as a below average intermediate. I've logged in thousands of hours doing everything imaginable. Self taught unfortunately but recently a few simple thoughts have begun to change things. One comment someone made was 1) that most of us already have enough tools in the box to produce something meaningful but don'tknowhow to apply them; and 2)what you said: "a template to give our solos more structure ie. spaces in our phrasing to change them"
In this 5 minute lesson you taught me something I never put much thought or effort into. Always feeling like I need to keep playing alot of notes to sound interesting. Copying other people was nice to learn songs and riffs but I was not creative and could never figure out what it was that the pros are doing. In a never-ending search for simplicity this 5 minute lesson unlocked years of frustration (along with several other lessons you posted. Thus lesson alone with a little practice resulted in 75 minutes of my 1st original work ever. Far from great but by definitely my most enjoyable experience since I started playing guitar 10 years ago. Something I definitely forgot about... isn't that why we started in the 1st place 🤔
Many many thanks to you again Jack.

In a world of shredding, this is such an incredibly valuable lesson. This is more about saying something rather than go fast. Very musical. I'm quickly becoming a fan!
Thank you from Texas!

Jack I've been playing 50 years, I've expanded a lot from listening to you. Melodic and sweet. Larry Carlton is my favorite player. I've been following Larry since the 70's when he was with the Jazz Crusaders. Your style is solid and there bro. Los Angeles Playing the changes

I so wish Jack was around when I was a young spry kid super impressionable and looking for distinct and solid direction on guitar these great YT videos but mostly as a private instructor. Calm and yet authoritative instruction and great musical direction would have made such a materially altered positive change of direction in my own playing style!! Jim C.

As always great job Jack.... I love underplaying more than overplaying.... You have great feel command of the instrument. Keep it up MATE!

Jack! You are a wellspring. Spaces, yes! I’ve recently begun this approach. Silence is as effective as a flurry of notes. Spaces allow you to feel what was played.

Well, you have done it, again. Now I see why your solos are so interesting by taking the same line and varying the tempo. Very illustrative. Made me by your new course. :-). Best, Robert
