i’m not schizophrenic but i been around the block long enough to tell you guys 1) the hospital will let you out in 2 weeks as soon as your insurance stops covering your stay & 2) the hospital will usually give you something like seroquel, an antipsychotic (a terrible drug that demolishes your mind & body). if you stop taking that antipsychotic (because it absolutely destroys your life) you will have what is called drug induced psychosis. even i had temporary psychosis when i was in seroquel withdrawal & i am not schizophrenic. it’s a completely normal response by the dopamine receptors to the withdrawal. you have to be VERY stable & reasonable during that time period & hold your own hand & tell yourself repeatedly that this is all in your head. looks to me like he didn’t make it out of his seroquel withdrawal. i do blame the totally ridiculous medical system.

He's not that crazy. He chose "gun free zones" and a bar where people can't legally carry to defend themselves. He prepared a separate car to leave the area with that wasn't in his name or something and left it there before hand.

I feel bad for the son. He’s probably going to get harassed because of what his father did. Imagine knowing your own father did this. He’s going to live with this for probably the rest of his life, and everywhere he goes, people will know him as the son of the murderer.

What I don’t understand is why they didn’t remove his weapons while he was hospitalized just a few months ago. Someone needs to be held responsible for that. Had they followed the law, this horrific loss of life may have been prevented. My heart breaks for all that are affected by this nightmare.

This isn’t the first time that mental health issues were very apparent beforehand… all these “common sense” laws and I’ve yet to see them work. Prayers for the victims and their loved ones.
