Younger people, pay attention: you should know who music icons are if you're getting an award at the Grammys, and if one of them presents YOU with an award, you should show some respect to that person. Celine Dion is a true icon, and I applaud her for the person she is.

Taylor Swift is arguably the most overrated artist of the decade. And this opinion is not coming from "toxic masculinity." Or politics. In fact, my politics align with Taylor's and I appreciate how she's encouraging her fans to become more politically active. I don't think Taylor Swift is even a bad artist; rather, I think she's a remarkably unremarkable artist. I've listened to most of her albums and find most of her work to be incredibly bland; vanilla and indistinguishable from so many other female pop songwriters. I don't find her music to be innovative, creatively daring or in any way distinctive, the kind of characteristics that typically make pop stars iconic. Indeed, I actually find other pop artists like Lady Gaga, Sia, Adele, Beyonce and Billie Eilish to be far more captivating. The oversaturation of Taylor Swift in the media and social media is equally egregious. It's as if a giant PR firm is bashing everyone on the head and forcing us to worship and fawn over her. I'm sorry, I don't buy into celebrity worship culture.

This is not the first time I have seen Taylor ignore Celine like that on stage! Yet when she accepted an award from N Sync she acted all star struck like a school girl. Celine is a legend and she deserves the same level of acknowledgement and respect as Mariah and JLo. I'm so disappointed in Taylor!
