I think there's a major issue in our culture of not being able to take constructive criticism. Almost every single company refuses to listen to their customer base.

you'd think for starfield being a "passion project" that they would have had more "passion" for it.

If Todd Howard honestly believed that Shattered Space tanked because he released the buggy first is a sign of severe mental decline.

Players: Starfield sucks and it's boring. Bethesda: No you actually liked it and it's the best game we've ever made

Growing up loving Bethesda games is like watching a family member slowly becoming a crackhead. RIP.

Skyrim was so good because just by entering a cave you could stumble upon a side story and decide wheter to follow it. Many times if you did, the story would unfold, you'd learn something about the world and get a reward worth your investment of time. The simple "I wonder what's in here/over there?" is not there in Starfield.

Bethesda asking 30$ for Shattered Space, the same price as Phantom Liberty is shameless. Still, I don't think the reception would be much different even if they were selling it for 10$.

1 of the worst themes I'm seeing these days, is developers constantly insulting people's intelligence. They always think the consumers don't know what they are talking about

I don’t know why anyone would be ‘excited’ for Elder Scrolls 6 at this point.

The fact that even modders say that this game can't be saved is just hilarious and sad.

The problem with Starfield at large is that Bethesda doesn’t even know what their games are meant to be anymore. For over 20 years now Bethesda has been slowly alienating their niche fanbases in pursuit of mainstream success. They caught lightning in a bottle somehow with Skyrim, and as Matty said, learned all the wrong lessons from it. Despite loving Skyrim, it has a massive amount of problems and really did pave the way for more shallow Bethesda games going forward. But Starfield is a game about so many things it ends up being about nothing. Quests? Exploration? Crafting? Base building? Ship building? It’s a game that has an ungodly amount of features, yet each feature when looked at in a vacuum is only a 3/10. Wide as an ocean, deep as a puddle is a massive understatement. Game companies need to start playing to niches again. It’s okay for your game to not be for everyone and not have every feature. That’s how FromSoft for example has succeeded for so long using a similar formula. They still do drastically different things, but they understand their niche.

Buggies behind a paywall would have made the backlash against Shattered Space 10x bigger.

0:32 the game didn't even check all the boxes that their old games did. Neither the base game or the dlc. They turned incomplete work in two parts.

So... they don't care about their customers?
Bethesda: You're finally awake

My friend saw "11-11" all over some random clothing brands line of new clothes and he says "Whats with the 11-11, What is 11-11?"

I responded without even thinking, like i was under a spell.
"Thats the day Skyrim came out."
