In our last Starfield video, we discussed the sad reality of Bethesda and what Shattered Space might mean for the future outlook of the company. Well, Bethesda has now responded to the interview that brought them a lot of heat and it's time to unpack the latest set of comments from both Todd Howard and Emil Pagliarulo.

I want bethesda to be great again. Its not about the the writing and design for me.

This hits me so personally. I used to be a QA tester for an electronics company. QA would tell devs “this product completely sucks, here’s why…” to get a response from the devs “just find bugs”. Then product releases, reviews are bad and customers really dislike UX/UI and some features barely work. Devs are like 😲.

I really feel a huge shake up is needed at Bethesda Game Studios. It's not cutting it anymore.

10:51 "EVEN Dawnguard was better"?? Dawnguard had the Forgotten Vale (amazing), Soul Cairn, vampire hunter gear, vampire form and gear, new spells, gargoyle and troll summons, new mount, four great boss fights, great characters and writing. Shattered Space doesn't even come CLOSE.

Emil is the embodiment of "Positive Toxicity".

If they can't fix their writing, zero hopes for whatever comes next. Starfield is the safest game ever made. No edge to it

Emil tweeting a lot of shit for a dude who openly said he ignores reviews.

I remember playing Oblivion, my first Bethesda game, and it was so fun to explore. You could fall asleep on a boat hotel and wake up to find it was abducted by pirates. Or stumble on a village of people made invisible.

Morrowind felt incredibly immersive because there was conflict. With Starfield, everything feels safe and sanitized, absolutely NOTHING resembling the likes of the Camonna Tong, for example.

"Maybe it's a game of expectations." My brother in Lorkhan you all marketed this game as a return to form after being criticized for slimming things down too much.

I called the Indum thing dumb and Emil blocked me. I don't think they like the criticism.

Emil saying "no ego" is peak irony, that dude's ego might even be bigger than Todd's. I'm sure we've all seen that keynote speech Emil gave several years ago. You know, the one where he talked about writing "the great American novel" and then complained that players would rather spend their time building shacks and collecting bobbleheads. The man is a complete narcissist so _of course_ he thinks Starfield is Bethesda's best work. Todd has a long history of ignoring feedback, and Emil will throw a tantrum on Twitter whenever he's criticized. As long as those two are in charge, Bethesda will continue to decline.

Larian Studios: we decided not to do any DLC because we just weren't feeling it and didn't want to put out subpar work.

Bethesda: We sold DLC before the game ever came out, so now we are obligated to put something out regardless of how passionate we are about it.

Let's face it, Shattered Space has no passion and seems to be just phoned in. They HAD to charge $30 for it because that's what people paid who bought the premium version. Can you imagine if they had charged what 5-10 hour DLC is worth? $10-$15. But no, "all you premium edition idiots, here's your $30 DLC like we promised." Total BS. Im glad I never gave a dime for this game. I got the premium edition for free when my old GPU died and was upgrading anyway. Even then, I somehow feel ripped off.

Oh god we’ve been waiting for elder scrolls 6 for over 10 years and it’s gonna suck isn’t it. God dammit.

I honestly can't wait for the Starfield PR talk to stop because they straight up are that meme where the dog is pretending everything is okay even when they're house is on fire, it's legit annoying

“Bethesda and Ubisoft” hurts my fucking soul. How did they get into the same conversation?!?

Camelworks did some numbers on morrowind to starfield, and morrowind had 300+ faction quests while having 53 devs Starfield 39 faction quests with 1000+ devs...

Im so sick of devs talking about there hard work like that makes up for the game being bad. I dont care how hard you worked, if it sucks it sucks.
