i'll be paragraph person!! Alright so i'll start with the shooter, the shooter's wife was in the hospital a few episodes back and until then was a pretty nice guy, laughing with the doctors and all. He was told his wife was fine and she'd wake up any minute so he went to see her, she was in fact in a coma. This was something that happened after she had had her surgery so the shooter tried suing the hospital but the case was dismissed as it wasn't the hospital's fault.
A few episodes pass involving this man until he comes back to the hospital this time looking for Derek: the main surgeon on his wife's case and the husband of Meredith grey (the blonde one in this clip). Derek does end up calming him down but just as he put his gun down, April Kepner (not in this clip) shouted "Dr Sheppard!" and the shooter shot him. In this scene you can see Christina and Jackson working on Derek, trying to save his life, (they were only residents) without an attending. Meredith was told to wait outside of the OR to not add pressure to Christina who was trying to save her best friend's husband's life. The shooter ended up finding the OR and was trying to force Christina to stop saving Derek and to let him die but she wouldn't. The scene where Derek seems 'dead' and meredith screaming crying; Jackson actually had made a smart move and pulled the wires off of Derek so they wouldn't read his heart and flat line. The shooter left and Meredith ended up taking own (the red head man who got shot in this scene) to another OR and he ended up fine. Derek was eventually saved due to Jackson's smart thinking and Christina's surgeon skills. hope that cleared it up!!

for those wondering what happened to the shooter and christinas guy; the shooter ended up killing himself as he only had one bullet left. he originally wanted to only kill the main surgeons on his wifes case and the chief in that period of time (which was dr webber) but he lost track of that and ended up killing way more people than expected. there was a scene where he was debating who to kill, dr webber or himself. he ended up shooting himself to be with his wife and not have to deal with the police.

Cristinas guy (owen) was taken to another or after he was knocked unconscious, falling down when he was shot. he woke up and, being a trauma surgeon himself, assessed he was fine as the bullet had an exit wound. (all he needed were some stitches as they didn't need to go into surgery to take the bullet out)

also just to add, some people are getting mad at the fact that the shooter was able to enter the hospital with a loaded gun, saying it would never happen. you're right, it would never happen but you must remember A; it's a tv show, and B; the hospital didn't have much security at the time, the shooter only shot his first victim in a private room. it wasn't until april found her best friend dead that the hospital was alerted of the shooter and went on lockdown. they were later evacuated but this group of surgeons, along with: lexi grey, mark sloan, and alex karev, stayed in the hospital to save eachother. for example; derek and alex had to be saved as they were shot.

that should clear up all questions!

Idk why but Percy's death was one of the cruelest things to see I know he was just a side character but seeing bailey helpless and only being able to give an IV or Anesthesia (i don't remember lol) was horrible and him slowly going pale and joking with a faint voice is engraved in my mind 😭😭😭

One of the most harrowing episodes they did. Genuinely difficult to watch and so impactful. I know Greys likes to go over the top but they did this finale justice with the tension. No music, just raw acting and agonising moments. Definitely one of their best.

Cristina and Owen were my favorite. They had the best chemistry. Even though they had struggles they genuinely cared about each other.

Jackson just removed the ecg chords which made the machine not detect any cardiac activity and therefore the machine read as "Patient deceased" - he wasn't dead, Jackson had clamped what he needed to and removed the chords.... Owen and Derek both survive.

I believe this was the finale for season 6 or something like that. The man with the gun is distraught because his wife died in the hospital. Well she was brain dead and she had an advanced directive stating that she didn't want to be kept alive by machines. The doctor on the operating table is the one who declared his wife dead so he shot him. The other doctors in the room dragged him to the O.R. to save him. The gunman came to the room and precedes to tell Cristina ( the asian woman) to stop operating and let him die. Meredith ( the one crying and screaming for Derek) is his wife and she is also a surgeon and now has to save Owen, who is Cristina husband. I won't spoil the ending in case you want to watch episode. I love greys anatomy

I think I hated Jackson right up until this episode. He was a real one. Cristina will be my forever favorite, and I struggled through the show once she left.
