Hi dear professor, "The decline of in-person movie attendance has led to the closing down of many theaters." I think it's a verbal noun, but the structure is "lead to+noun" and "lead to+gerund" as well as "close down" is a noun and a verb. I looked it up in various dictionaries. I didn't find any word related to "closing down". It should be written like this led to the close down of many theaters." Could you make me understand this structure.
