Fix Car Cell Phone Holder Not Sticking! Sticky Gel Pad & Suction Cup Solve (iOttie) - by DIYNate
Показать описание
DIYNate shows how he fixes his car cell phone holder / mount (iOttie brand) from not sticking to the dashboard in this quick video!
In this video, DIYNate shares his solution to his great cell phone holder (iOttie Dashboard & Windshield Car Mount Phone Holder) that seemed to have lost its ability to stick to his dashboard. He goes through the steps of:
1. Washing the sticky pad under warm water and gently removing the dirt and grime from years of use.
2. Letting air dry for ~24 hours
3. Reattaching the pad and applying the suction
4. Many more years of continued use (fix worked and continues to hold like a champ!)
While this was done on the iOttie cell phone holder model, it likely will work with other types of mounts that have a sticky gel pad as the primary sticking component on the dashboard or windshield, but make sure to check your manufacturer's suggestions on fixing. This approach may or may not work on the suction cup alone (this video is about cleaning the sticky gel pad, not the suction cup, as the suction component was not the problem in this video).
