They all have soul in this one, usually it’s just Scott, but it’s so special when they all have it. Mitch has my favorite line in this, as anxious as a little child….

Me being a big fan of Stevie Wonder and a Pentaholic since day 1, I completely geeked out when PTX 1st released this Stevie Wonder Christmas classic! I love what they did it ❤️

If you want Scott soul listen to their sing-off performance of Let’s Get it On. Wow. Love their version of this song. Love your enthusiasm.

Not far in the video but the square editing is a staple from them since very early on. It works really well with being able to show many mouth movements at once, which enhances the experience of acapella for sure. I don't know if they were the "first" ones to do it, but it's very synonomous with them. I think Lil Nas X did an acapella version of a song recently (media said he "pentatonixed it". Wild how synonomous they are with the genre) and he had this same setup. Their editors are very good at using the concept in a dynamic and fun way. And it was a really good thing that it was already expected from them when the pandemic came around. They already knew how to work with that kind of look in a fun way.

Editing and adding as I'm watching... Yes on Scotts soul and riffing! It just comes out of him as easy as breathing or talking (well, easier than talking for him to be fair... hahah). And you're so spot on with how Kirstin and Mitch can sound so very similar. I think that's part of their success in providing backing vocals together, they can work as a multi note instrument instead of 2 separate voices. It's something I like with Matts addition to the group as well because him and Scott can do a similar "sneaky switch-off" that must be really helpful with arranging.

Scott could probably do a whole album of Motown. You probably couldn't print it on vinyl or a CD because it would be so hot it would melt.
The guy's got soul. You could see it when they did 'Let's Get It On' on The Sing Off.

I love it when you hit a “c’mon now” moment! They did such a good job with this one, as did you. Peace from Ohio …

Pure high notes. Beautiful. I have heard others say that he and Kirsty can match notes as needed

I call this style the Brady Bunch style, it reminds me of that shows opening sequence.

This has been covered by dozens of people over the decades but I think the first was 60's Stevie Wonder, which is probably who Scott is channeling.
