The hulk is also its own entity that exists within banners mind banner can only try and keep him contained but he can’t control him too well. Professor hulk is the only hulk that is a combination of banner and hulks personality as one uniform entity.

Hulks make that person what they wanted to be. So for Jennifer that made her confident. It’s important to note Bruce’s first Hulk form was Grey Hulk, AKA Joe Fixit, a mobster, Bruce felt that Joe was “strong enough” to be a man, AKA strong enough to deal with his trauma.

Savage Hulk is the child he never got to be, Joe was the man he wanted to be, Immortal/Devil Hulk was the father he never had
