If you're looking at buying a new knife or looking for a cool gift I'm going to give my take on Wusthof vs Shun. Two of the best knife manufacturers in the world.

Here are the links for both:

Wusthof Classic IKON 8” Chef’s Knife:

Shun Classic 8" Chefs Knife:

Things I didn’t mention in the video but you should take into consideration:

Length- Anything shorter than 8” will likely not be as versatile. Longer knives 10-12” are going to awkward for most and may too much too handle comfortably.

Ceramic knives- Should not be an option for anybody. The color coating on the outside will chip off over time and will end up in your food and are a safety hazard. They are cheap and very sharp but I would never recommend them to anybody.

Thanks Jon! I have been doing a lot of cooking lately & have been wondering what type of knife to buy.
Do you do your own sharpening? I'd love to know how you guys keep up with your knives...
