Alan Jackson is opening up to fans about a disease he’s been battling for years.

The 62-year-old country singer told the “Today” show that he’s been battling a “no cure” degenerative neurological condition called Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease for the better part of a decade.

“It’s not going to kill me. It’s not deadly,” Jackson said about the disease he inherited from his father.

Alan, What's Charcot Marie Tooth Disease? I don't understand. Marie is my middle name too. Ask my Parents. They'll tell you. Marie was my Grandma s middle name too Then she had the same last name as all of the cousins in my family 👪 But she is deceased now. So is my cousin named Jim from Buffalo New York. You've been here before. And my cousin named Molly from Jonesboro Georgia. They are with my Grandparents and Great Grandparents from both sides. And my Great Aunts and Uncles too .
