Teaching my daughter how to tie the Bowline

My 7 year old daughter asked me to teach her how to tie knots, so we started with the most important one.

That was great to watch, 70 years ago in Australia in scouts I was taught the rabit burrow and tree method. You had the tree(long end held in the left hand) and burrow (the loop at the foot of the tree) formed with your daughter and the rope tip was the rabit (in your right hand). The rabit came out of the burrow, went around the tree and back down the burrow and you pull all three.

Thank you for posting. Attempting to teach knots in basic sailing classes over the years I learned that people will find infinite world of possibilities in interpreting the instructions resulting in outcomes that were not intended by instructor. Making us a better instructors for the next class. Your daughter is a brilliant instructor.

I misread the title and kept thinking, “why are they using paracord to learn how to tie a bow tie?!”
But it’s a cute video. I love teaching my kids this stuff!
