The Nanny was one of the most beloved sitcoms of the 1990s. Its lead character Fran Fine’s distinct nasal voice and laugh might have been annoying, but proved irresistible because she did bring a certain charm and countless laughs.

The show also featured other memorable characters like Niles the loyal butler, Mr. Sheffield, his three children, and the hilarious and egocentric antagonist C.C. Babcock. Even the supporting characters Sylvia Fine, Valerie Toriello, and Grandma Yetta proved equally as funny.

Personally, Lauren Lane made the show. She had the most difficult part. So her comedic timing had to be perfect.

Still can't believe Niles isn't really British. Saw him on Matlock and some other shows with a american southern accent. I'm still convinced Niles and CC were hooking up on the DL for years before they were discovered.

I met Fran at a Health Convention in DC in March 2018. She was very friendly and happy to autograph my 3rd Season DVD.

And, yes, that voice is REAL!!

The only one that I thought was really unrecognizable was Benjamin Salisbury. Most of his features really aren't all that different from when he was a kid, obviously older, maybe a bit chubbier in the face, but it's that hair loss that really makes him look like an almost totally different person.

I always thought a great opportunity was lost when Fran and her best friend on the Nanny played by Rachel Chagall should have teamed up and did a revival of Lavern and Shirley after the show ended..
