Don’t move to the Rock. Seriously. Let us tell you why..

Little Rock, the capital of Arkansas, is a city on the Arkansas River. It’s home to the William J. Clinton Presidential Library and Museum, with exhibits including a replica of the Oval Office and presidential artifacts. In an 1800s Greek Revival building, the Old State House Museum traces Arkansas history. MacArthur Park has a pond, plus the Arkansas Arts Center, known for its large collection of drawings. ― Google

#LITTLEROCK #ARKANSAS #OZARK I don’t know if you need to hear this, but:

These lists are not intended to be used for making life changing decisions. They are just another look at the city. I present both good and bad points of view on this channel. I don’t just make videos that are negative. There are positive videos on the channel too, check them out. They are made from statistical sources made available by government agencies as well as first hand resident experiences. If you are happy living here, I am happy for you. No need to send me death threats.

For everyone saying she's exaggerating the problem with bears and wild animals, ok, maybe she's being kind of hilarious, but how does that disregard the 9 other claims she made which are totally true? Most importantly, she is totally accurate about the horrible economy, horrible crime rate, and horrible social life

maybe we should just let people think Little Rock and Arkansas in general sucks so we can keep it a gem lol

I've lived in LR my whole life and the only bear I've ever seen was in Tennessee. Also, there's no Piggly wiggly stores in LR. Not one. 🤔

OMG this is the worst video I’ve seen so far! She’s extremely misinformed about most of the reasons she listed.
I lived in AR for 10 years and nobody carries bear spray.
While there are mosquitoes they are not bad at all! I grew up in Wisconsin, they are terrible up there!

I lived in Little Rock for 6.5 years. It's a great town. Wonderful place to live. This assessment sounds like a millennial complaining about non issues. Arkansas Children's Hospital is one of the greatest in the world. UAMS and Baptist hospitals are also great

I've lived in Arkansas since 79. I still haven't met anyone that carries bear spray.

4 lots of things are named after bill and Hillary Clinton because he was a nice guy
5 this video is the absolute worst video I’ve seen on YouTube

I have lived in Arkansas 69 years, about half that in the Little Rock area, and have never seen a bear anywhere. Except for deer and birds we aren't just overrun with wildlife. The skeeters are nothing like they were 50 years ago when you could barely breath outside without inhaling a few. They drive them skeeter spray trucks all over the place. Arkansas is still mostly a rural, small town, agricultural state. Pulaski County and Northwest Arkansas are pretty built up, but northwest is where almost all the real growth is. Northwest is getting too expensive for most Arkansans to live in because of the influx of out of staters, especially people that work for or sell to Walmart, work for Tyson and JB Hunt. Little Rock is 200, 000, Fayetteville is #2 at 100, 000. The typical town in Arkansas is 10-30, 000. The southeast and southern parts of the state are losing population. Not many jobs there. Pulaski County and Pine Bluff are heavy on African Americans - the state is 15% black but Little Rock is 50% black. Northwest and any town with poultry processing plants are heavy on Hispanics. The state is way more diverse than it was 35 years ago. The state had made tremendous progress in many ways in the last 50-60 years - roads and highways, healthcare, education, unemployment is low, cost of living is low. If you think Arkansas is a hick state today, you should have seen it before 1970 when it was REALLY hick, gravel state highways, no phone service or electricity in a few places. The people of Arkansas are largely conservative - the state government as a result is very conservative, a very red state. Not too many Democrat elected officials in recent years. But the liberals have made a lot of headway in ruining the state with gambling, casinos, lottery, expanded liquor sales, medical marijuana, so forth. But still many churches everywhere, and the schools are not nearly as woke as in many blue states. Large numbers of people in Arkansas that were not born here, which was not the case in 1970 - everybody here was from here then. So the population has grown from 2 to 3 million, which is plenty. Arkansas isn't called the Natural State for nothing. Most of what people do here for fun or excitement is done outdoors - hunting, deer and ducks esp., fishing, water sports, mountain biking, hiking, camping so forth. No spectacular mountains but lots of beautiful hills, lakes, wetlands, rivers and streams, flatlands. So as with any place, Arkansas is for some people and not for other people. It all depends on what you want and how you approach life. Very little big city life but plenty of small town, rural peace and quit. Our motto used to be the Land of Opportunity, and it is that. Before that Arkansas was the Bear State, but today you will have to go looking for them. On the whole I recommend you stay where you are.

There are mosquitos but there are definitely no Bears walking around in Little Rock. However, most of us work really hard for little pay that is true. Crime is bad and I never leave home without my weapon. Arkansas is great because of the beautiful trails and rivers. Recommend living in the country not in Little Rock area.

As someone who grew up in the woods of Arkansas, the wildlife is a perk in my opinion, same with how small Little Rock truly is. Gives it a charm no other capital has.

I am a lifelong resident of Arkansas. Been living in the Little Rock metro for the past 25+ years and some of these reasons are overblown. Here's my two cents worth:
The mosquitos are hardly noticeable compared to the rice farm country east of Little Rock.
Never ever heard of anyone carrying bear spray. I have seen a coyote once or twice and a fox maybe a half-dozen times. Nothing much that would make me want to carry bear spray.
So poor that McDonalds is a splurge for most people? 🙄
I think we pretty much have the same weather as the Midwest, Great Plains, and Southeast U.S. Wherever you live there is some form of weather that is a knock for living there.
I like rural. Grew up in a rural area. Don't see that as a bad thing.
And one last thing, the Broadway Bridge was replaced six years ago. Get a more up to date photo.

It all depends who you are. But in my opinion Tucson AZ is worse than little rock. There's no jobs, nightlife, or much outdoor activities. Crime is high and MS 13 is moving in. There's only 1 major highway and it does not even go thru the center of town. Other than phoenix there is no other major city really within a half days drive where LR has New Orleans and Nashville for starters. AZ may not have the numbers when comes to bugs but AZ has the creepiest looking bugs I have ever seen, and they are the size of a credit card so bugs don't effect me like they used too it's just part of life. Planing on moving to LR or middle TN in the next year or so. It's good to know the cons of a state before deciding, but do research on Tucson it's worse than little rock in my mind.

I grew up in Little Rock, but never thought of it as "home". I always knew I wanted to live elsewhere, so at the age of 26, I hightailed it to Los Angeles and never looked back. That was 24 years ago, and now I live in NYC. I've also had the opportunity to travel abroad and experience other cultures, food, and social activities on a completely different level. I've gone back to visit Little Rock a few times over the years, but nothing makes me feel like I've missed anything. I'm happy to visit relatives and friends still living there every few years, but I have no desire to ever move back there, or anywhere in the South for that matter. I don't call it my "hometown", and very rarely mention it in conversations about my life before adulthood. To each his own, as I'm sure there are people who love it. I'm just not one of them.

A lot of these reasons are BS. But I’ll give you number 6/crime as accurate and should be listed as number 1. Things are pretty calm in the daytime but drama happens at night no doubt. I often get off work at midnight and the road rage and angry freaks seem to appear at that time while I’m driving home. There also seems to be a shitload of homeless zombie people that have slept all day and decide to roam the streets at night. With a lot of them belonging in mental wards yet free to shout and blabber in the night.
Oh I agree with all other commentators, I’ve never seen a bear. I realize there’s been a few sightings here and there but it’s so rare it makes the news.
