This is a video about the biggest changes that were made to the animatronic show stages. This does not include all, but ones I believe were the biggest steps toward our current technology and mascot appearance.

The animatronics may be creepy, but... honestly there’s an odd charm to their unnatural movements and look. I grew up with stage 3, one of the less creepy stages, and I’m so nostalgic for it. There are few things that can make me more nostalgic than Chuck E. Cheese.
Edit: one stage chuck’s eyes should NOT look like that. They were most likely damaged by a cast member who didn’t know what they were doing.

When I was a kid in the early 2000s, my local chucky Cheese had the 1982 and 1991 Animatronics. They were creepy as hell, but man I do miss the whole experience. The arcades, the slides, the prizes, the pizza, and the animatronics. It sure was a great experience.

My local Chuck E. Cheese’s has never had a full animatronic band, but they’ve always had Chuck. I remember sitting and watching him because he was mesmerizing to me. I would have all of my birthday parties there just to see that animatronic. He was my favorite thing in the world when I was a kid, and when I found out Chuck E. Cheese’s was rebranding I was devastated. I hadn’t been there in years, but went for my birthday this year just to see if he was still there….. and he was :) it made my whole day and I’m so glad not all locations have ditched their animatronics.

I regret not appreciating these animotranics more. The only memories I have with them as a kid was occasionally starring at them for a while while playing arcade games.

I feel bad for them. It's sad to see how they are just removing what gives them fame. The animatronics are beloved by so many people, and I think that they will loose the rest of the people that still go to their restaurants, cause without the animatronics, they are just another boring restaurant

Honestly, the older character designs gave me some feeling. Not a bad feeling, and I’m not sure how to explain it. I was never allowed to go to Chuck E. Cheese, but I’m still very fascinated by its lore and it’s past. I wish they kept the animatronics because that’s what made it an especially unique attraction.

R.I.P The robots 1979-2020
They said the robots were ruining childhoods of millions over the years. Some almost looked like FNaF versions. We might not or might will pay respects to these robots who didn’t mean to ruin those childhoods.

5:17, the way the cameraperson looks away for a second and is being stared at when it turns back is creepy.

For most of my childhood (born in 2001), our Chuck E. Cheese just had this static model, one hand on the mic and the other outstretched, and he'd just swivel back and forth slowly. Kids would hop on the stage and high-five him, knowing full well they weren't supposed to. One day, when I was around 14 and obsessed with Five Nights at Freddy's, I came back for my little brother's birthday party, and since we came in at opening time, I got to watch them turn on a brand-new animatronic (the newest, friendliest-looking model). I watched as he bent and twisted, arms flailing, eyes darting and teeth gnashing. It was incredible. I hope that some stages will still be around these days.
