I find cute that they are also monogamous, since it's kinda rare for mammals. Also Tom Nook from Animal Crossing is based on a Tanuki, a.k.a racoon dog :)

I am Korean and I often have night walk myself around 1 to 3 am. I live in quite industrialized city but almost everytime I have night walk, I see them, but never seen them during the day time.

interesting that they are called racoon dog in English, it makes sense given the masked face, but in German they are called "Marderhunde" (marten dogs)

I love racoon dogs 🦝 (from 🇰🇷)
Recently, the urban populations have increased so i see them almost everyday near the park.
They're one of the top predators in Korea. neoguri(🦝 in korean) in Seoul usually feed on insects, wild fruit, and mostly.. cat food😂. At 6 pm they come out clumsily from the bush, force cats away for the feast

This was the first animal that I saw in real life before knowing what it was. We thought it was a cat then no, then a dog then no, then we freaked out haha Googled it the next day. Was like seeing a Pokémon.
