It’s simple really, Ineos are looking at a game model where if someone gets injured the player replacing them with you won’t see a drop off in style of play. Makes sense to me..

If that's Ineos' biggest mistake I would say things have gone pretty well 🤷🏼‍♂️

The match against City in the FA cup final with him controlling that right side shows the benefit of having him, but the truth is he wants to be a starter and will run down his contract, sell him now, free up the wage bill, get in Mazraoui for less wages hopefully and its a win win, for all parties.

AWB has improved out of all recognition. On the ball his crossing. It’s just his awareness of danger at the back post he drives you nuts. He is a great pro though he’s not given us any grief like some players Shitony. Mazraoui is technical upgrade though.

Wambi gave us so much confidence for one on one defending. Top quality

“2 versions of plan A” is such a good point. Hate the way United go auto long ball and counter as soon as a few players drop out. No other top team changes their style of play after a few injuries or if playing the kids

The number one role of a defender is to defend. AWB does that better than the others.

I am ajax fan and i know nous really well. This is a massive upgrade, you dont have to worry. The guy just doesnt loose the ball. Really clever in small pockets and you cant press him. Defensively sometimes at ajax he was sleeping but he makes up for it with his ball playing. Also i saw alot of bayern games and when he played he did well to be honest. Made big steps defensively. Sad he got his injuries. And no i am not an ajax fan thats just supports every ajax player. My friends and i were laughing that you bought antony, we couldnt believe it. We knew he wouldnt be good enough and you paid 100M😅.Before you buy a ajax player, call me. Nous will be a starter real quick i think. Dalot is just too stressed with the ball on his feet and unpredictable in a bad way. Nous knows how to create a extra man on midfield with his positioning and progressive passing. I hope he stays fit and gets a couple games to adjust to the PL. but it will be OK.

We had 6 or 7 problem positions, but the RB wasn't one. I've enjoyed the signings so far, but this feels like when we brought Anthony when we had Sacho, Pellestri, Diallo and Garnacho.

For some fans, a chapter on slide tackling is the whole book of defending.

Sticking with AWB means giving him a new contract, which makes absolutely no sense for what the ambitions are of the manager and the club

AWB is not only deficit in attack or possession, he struggles in defending space, keeping track or runners running off behind him, one-two played around him, keeping in line with other defenders... there's more.

Definitely an elite one on one defender but that is not enough, it shouldn't be for a Utd player

Can't believe the amount of United fans having meltdowns over losing Wan-Bissaka & bringing in Mazraoui. Do these fans want escape from mediocrity or what? Always getting sentimental about players who aren't gonna get us back to the level we need to be. I liked Wan-Bissaka & he did his bit for us over the years but he was never the answer on the right-side & everyone says they want to move to a more progressive brand of football but then lose their shit at the sale of Wan-Bissaka ffs. 🤦‍♂️ Strange mentalities.

Can't imagine going into a game against citeh or the scoucers and not thinking "wan bissaka will be needed for this one"

As much as I love AWB anyone who thinks he can be a starter in a possession based team that wants to play attacking front footed football is wrong. He’s one of the worst full backs in the league on the ball, that’s just facts. He’s an amazing player for a team that wants to sit deep, defend, stay compact and counter. That’s Ole ball/Jose ball. Ten Hag wants us to play with real quality in possession and AWB can never bring that unfortunately. Shame cos I like his bravery, humbleness and his attitude to the game in general.

His injury record has a lot of one games due to illness or fitness. The later being brought back to soon from a muscle injury. But the muscle injury is his most recent, and in my mind the most concerning. But Wan Bisaka last season missed 21 games through injury. One for 72 days and was undisclosed, and a hammi that cost him 44 days. Maz lost 19 games, 2 less than AWB

I like AWB he’s been good for us and he’s the best 1v1 defensive fullback but he has tendencies to nap at the back post (trossard goal for arsenal as a recent example) and more importantly AWB can’t play as an inverted RB he can’t tuck into RCB like Dalot sometimes does clearly when AWB plays United have to change their attacking shape completely to accommodate him which is not right. If we want Ten Hag to play good football then we need players that will suit the style of play simple as that Mazroui will do that perfectly so if Dalot gets injured I would much rather Mazroui than AWB considering they’re both the same age and Mazroui could be signed for a similar fee to AWB’s sale. AWB is a very good RB don’t get me wrong, but he’s not what United need rn similarly to Maguire, Mctominay Eriksen Casemiro Lindelof they’re decent or good players just not what United need now so if we got offers for those players I’d also be happy to sell them some more so than AWB

AWB is obviously amazing in the 1v1s but the amount of times we've seen him slowly jog back when the other team is pressing or hasn't noticed a player behind him at the back post isn't good enough

Mazrouri been brought in to get Antony in shape

I don’t care who goes or comes, my problem is we haven’t improved yet in this preseason from last season. I know it’s preseason but we still doing same thing. We have to start holding balls and dictating play no matter who we play against or we will struggle again
