Personally, I thought that the reveal of Taskmaster as Dreykov’s daughter was a bit underwhelming and predictable. Looking back, I think if they made it Natasha’s biological mother, it would’ve been more impactful and genuinely shocking. Having Natasha dismiss, then eventually reconcile her old “family, ” confronting her biological family, then returning to her adopted family (in a way) would be heartbreakingly awesome

The movie should have come out between Civil War and Infinity War, and the post credits scene should have been placed at the end of Endgame.

It's all been about why BW is supposedly so important and a ton of stuff about James Bond for some reason. You don't spend much time actually reviewing the movie. Oh and, Cap was not in Ironman 2.

Nah fam. It squandered literally every bit of potential it had. I haven't seen a film this adverse to its own premise in ages.

It goes out of its way to be the most generic and bland MCU film it can be all the while a genuinely intriguing, layered, and intense film is literally right under the surface.

Almost everything you said isn't supported by the content of the actual movie. Black Widow is at the bottom end of the list when it comes to Marvel movies with this version of Natasha being almost a completely different character to the previous movies. **Spoliers** She willingly murders prison guards just doing their job at a prison by causing an avalanche, she survives events that should cause certain death to anyone with lower power levels than Captain America and at no point does she consider infiltrating the prison which is what would make sense for this character.

Don't worry though, keep shilling. You'll get that premiere night goodie bag someday.

I absolutely LOVED Black Widow. I’d say it has minor flaws, which are in every case outweighed by the good. I felt it was actually quite genius how it gave me virtually everything I loved about her cartoon counterpart and this MCU version in one. She is the Jason Bourne of Marvel, a living weapon who’s mind has been literally programmed to kill. And her strength of will as well as her cunning is on some Batman level shit.

As much as I appreciate your sentiment about Widow’s importance, and she certainly is an integral fixture of the MCU, the execution in the film’s plotting and the action sequences diminish the film’s sense of identity - especially with its placement in the canon. Thematically it’s pretty well rounded and the character dynamics are pretty refined, but the weak villain and some contrivances hinder the film’s that makes it not so much forgettable but mediocre

Some people said that the opening was too slow and boring. Bruh, not only was it tense af, it was quite unsettling and honestly disturbed me. Especially when you consider that the things that were done were quite reminiscent of actual events. And the opening credits were like that Winter Soldier hydra montage on steroids.

I mean, besides Bond and Mission Impossible, we have films like Atomic Blonde, Kingsman, Tenet, and I'd even argue John Wick, which shares a lot of elements (slick action, globe-trotting missions, secret organizations, that slick Bond air of an international world of assassins etc.). I think spy movies are in a pretty good place, and I don't feel there's that big a hole to be filled by Black Widow as you're making it out to be.

I had been waiting for this movie basically since they had first announced it and had been counting down the day, but then people started to give negative reviews and I got nervous. But then I saw it last night and LOVED it (of course I may be biased since Natasha is one of my favorite characters!) It was the perfect way to send off her character.

Lol this video didn't say anything other than "We need spy movies, this is a spy movie. Also girl power." That doesn't make it top tier in the MCU, or even out of the bottom tier. I desperately wanted this film to be good, unfortunately every part of the film is flawed or broken. Natasha has been thoroughly assassinated, every character is dreadful or poorly written, and the plot is almost entirely nonsensical.

I don't think it's one of the best MCU movies nor a flawless one but it's the MCU film I have a soft spot with the most. And also I don't get the hate for this. Just because it came out too late doesn't mean it's automatically a bad movie.
