My Father and I used to shoot a lot at home. He was a shooter.

Helped pay for his college hustling in Pennsylvania back in the day.

We used to play Golf a lot on our table.
He was also a semi pro golfer.
Never beat him playing tennis either.

I learned a LOT from him.

I like how you break it down, start with 3, then 4 on up. Makes good sense. I'm already doing some of what you're saying but you're helping me to stitch it all together ...

Great drill! I'm up to five balls, and winning against the ghost 80% of the time. I have waited until I won 9 of 10 twice in a row before moving up from 3 to 4 and from 4 to 5. I made 9 of 10 once with 5 balls but then fell off twice to 80%. Discipline will get me where I want to go!

Three was too hard!! Lolz. So I went to two. It make me pay more attention to the effects of tangent and English. Thanks man. Reminding me to fall in love with 3-4-5-6-7-8 ball first. I'll get to 9 eventually.

Thanks Brian, I’ve been a 8 ball player since the beginning of picking up this game. Kind of crazy I’ve always used rotation with the three balls to warm up with. You are correct there are tons of ways of getting out playing 8 ball for sure.
Started playing 9 ball/ rotation pool about 6 weeks ago. Didn’t really care for it much, but have now found I’m really enjoying it. My personal. Best against the “Ghost” is I ran 6 racks. In a row and beat the “Ghost”. 9-4… appreciate you sharing your knowledge and all you’re videos….. much appreciated….

"Don't learn to hate the game because you can't run a rack". Brian is a great teacher! Thanks for helping with my learning.

I have been struggling with 9 ball vs 8 ball as well...this is a good drill to practice. I look forward to giving it a shot.

Great topic, Bryan. I play both 8 & 9 in my APA league. Been struggling with 9 lately but doing well in 8. So I started practicing 9 more at home and it is starting to pay off. Definitely need to accept the fact that there will be long shots and you might as well practice and get good at them. Your 3-rail position lessons also help a lot. Appreciate you! Take care.

This video is right on time for me. I have shot 8ball all my life and just started 9ball. Can you do a video on reading nine ball racks and breaking nine ball racks

Good video. I think you should mention for the uninitiated lol how you cheated the pocket on the 6 to hold the cue ball for the 8. These are the things newer players can't comprehend on their own👍

Definitely doing the 3 balls to start and working your way up has helped improve my 9ball game.

Dude... awesome! Can you maybe show us how to compensate for a lower left draw shot for different angles.

Love the idea of starting with 3 balls! I’ve been doing the 2 below 8 ball drill and having trouble but I’ve got it a couple times (beginner) so moving on to this 3 ball idea and positioning the balance
To hit the others is gonna take my game
To the next level! Thank you.

We practice 8 ball alot but when we play, we play it after the first shot. You have to run the balls in order either 1-7 then the 8 or 9-15 but first shot is always open to any ball then must pot in order lowest to highest depending on which balls you have

Excellent advice ! My problem is speed control. I struggle with how hard/soft to hit the cue ball.
