Before resurrecting the Dodo bird, we’ll need to do something about the invasive species such as rats, pigs, and dogs that have essentially overrun Mauritius. They were responsible for the extinction of not only the Dodo, but for many other island dwelling species too.

The dodo deserves to be brought back. They didn't become extinct unnaturally. I support Colossus on bringing back the dodo

I want a pet dodo.

I think dodos would be better suited living in a farm environment where they can stay protected.

Looking at the track history of humans, once its not a problem bringing back a species, it will no longer be a priority to value what we have. If we wipe out an ecosystem for a new factory, its not like we can't bring back the ecosystem later. Problem being, we often promise to restore things to their pristine state but find it "more economical" to cut corners. If our economy can't care enough to change our consumption now, what makes anyone think it will be different than it has been throughout our modern history?

Yes, I feel like science should be working on protecting species that are going extinct, but there are multiple sciene companies that can work on differnet things. So I think it is cool that the dodo is coming back, but that doesn't get in the way of saving rhinos.

If this actually works, they should bring back other species that were hunted and brought to extinction to humans like the Passenger Pigeon and Thylacine

One thing to consider is as we venture farther into fields of science like this is that the natural world is becoming increasingly more dependent upon us. Animals are turning more and more to us for help. The question is to what extent can we minister to their needs. This can become quite a burden to bear.

I hope a new species of plants & plants is created that can survive in the extreme heat of the deserts.

I’m preparing to do a video on the Dodo bird myself. The information in this video will be very helpful for me. Thanks.

I think of what happened to Yellowstone when they reintroduced wolves. Regions benefit from biodiversity. If they didn’t go out naturally, I don’t see a major ethical issue with bringing some species back if we can. If you broaden the purpose beyond that, it gets super dicey.

Would be perfect in a protective environment. Obviously they wouldn't survive in nature. But farming them for meat, feathers, and whatever else they can be used for could be a productive venture. Seems like it would be easier to farm these creatures rather than continuing the modify chickens. These are essentially just a giant chicken. Yummy!

A long time ago. A scientist actually found a feather of the last dodo! And he started multiplying it. So it might be true! Dodos might come back in 2031..

Find land that is as close to the Dodo environment as you can and introduce them there.

They are making sure that the animas that they "resurect" are 'compatible' meaning capable of living along side humans so that their DNA can be stored in the ARK when we go off-world.

I don't think they should bring back dangerous animals but I guess the dodo is fine. However, this is kinda against nature. I don't think they know if this is very dangerous, do they?

There was no ethical concerns when people hunted and destroyed the eggs of the poor bird. 😢

Imagine a meter high chicken that lays giant eggs, we need it!
