I expected to drive through some remote areas on our recent 7200-mile coast-to-coast road trip. We like our Internet services, even on the road. So, I picked up a WeBoost cellular signal booster. This is NOT a paid endorsement; I'm a real customer.

I still carry a paper atlas and use a Garmin gps for navigation. I absolutely do not trust cell signal while going somewhere new. My kids think I'm weird, but one day they will learn the hard way how unreliable cell phones actually are. I would add this to my vehicle, not for navigation, but just to ensure talking capabilities on the phone. Thanks for sharing!

Great install, just what I was looking for. Installing this on my 4runner and how to run the cable was driving me crazy. Wanted an easy to remove or bring inside when not in use for long periods of time.. Any issues w the cable coming in on the bottom of the door jam? Makes sense water wouldn’t drip along and up.

It does pull in signals and I can speak from experience, here in Nova Scotia, we have weak to poor coverage in the rural areas. Sitting outside with a cell phone I have zero signal. With this device in the car, I get full bars -- depending on what is available, 3G or LTE, depending. BUT there are pockets, that if there is no signal & no signal between the clusters of where a signal is available... this device offers no signal -- there is no magic to making the signals appear. All signals will be on the fringe of some areas and with this device it will pull in signals -- from the fringe. At my home location, we have zero coverage and this will bring in a full 3G or 2 bar LTE depending on the tower and location of where I am on my property (many acres to play with) --- In the house we have a signal due to a directional antenna - so we can have cell coverage through the house. The video was good -- and well noted on the device does not make signals appear.

Had a good laugh at your "Back in the old days..." comment. I still carry a map of Texas in my car and we carry an atlas in the family vehicle just to be safe.

Ah the charm of paper maps. I remember the "good old days" no cell phones, paper maps....doing cross country trips is sketchy cars with no a/c....etc....
