"This is barely food, but I kinda love it" is a whole ass entry on the food pyramid.

As I recall, Japan 7/11 rescued the parent company when the parent company went bankrupt. That was when Japanese combini stores were pioneering Point of Sales precise inventory control to the industry.

Wish they'd carry Japanese food instead. I want to walk in and get onigiri and egg sandos!!!

Japanese spoken with an American southern accent is my new favorite thing. Thank you for that.

If they start selling fresh daily onigiri, sandos, and fried chicken cutlets it'll be a win.

Honestly the quality at 7-Eleven has already gone up since the Japanese ownership began, and they even have a handful of prepackaged Japanese snack things there, at least at the locations here in LA.

7-eleven has been in Stripes here in Texas for a few years now and I can’t wait for them to update their stores. My mid-size city doesn’t have many stores open past 10pm and most don’t open until 7am so I really hope this will reignite the ‘midnight food runs’ experience from pre-Covid

When I was a kid they already had burgers at 7-11s and they were actually really good. Good as in "Trash, but you love it" good. They had topping dispensers and everything.

If only they do that here, I would welcome it.

"The Japanification of American 7-Elevens" is a sick title for a video essay

The pikmin enemy figurines are a great addition to this video.

Buc-ees has changed a lot of the mindset where I am. There are multiple local neighborhood gas stations that have all remodeled and added fresh food and meal sections and even added drive-throughs for pick-up. It's not a Japanese conbini, but they're at least trying.
