THANK YOU. So many people want to thread it as soon as they get a flash.

Exactly! And good med techs and nurses learn this!

It's a little disturbing that this info is easily found on YT but not being practiced or taught properly in formal training. But it's nice to know where I can find this info should I ever need it.

My veins tend to roll. I always tell whomever is sticking me but sometimes they don't always listen. I've been jabbed multiple times, both arms wrists, and hands and still had to come back because they couldn't successfully draw blood. I can only take so many painful, unsuccessful attempts before I have to leave.
I now avoid Drs and nurses until it's almost too late. I had a stroke on a Wednesday (didn't know what was going on) and was dragged to the emergency room that Saturday afternoon. Luckily I have minimal deficits but I was told I probably wouldn't have made it through the night. I never used to fear needles and medical professionals, I used to donate blood on a regular basis but now I REALLY have to be in pain for an extended period of time before I voluntarily see a doctor. No offense intended just lived experience.

I've had my veins blown out so many times during IV placements. The bruises were huge! My veins are very deep, thin, and like to move around.
When I had a blood patch after I started leaking spinal fluid after my c-section with my first son, it took 6 tries to find a vein by 3 different anaesthesiologists. I was not happy!

Apologies to the wonderful infusion staff who have to bypass nothing but scar tissue & valve blockages💚. 3 poke's a charm ✨. Thank you Dr. Kaveh 👍🏼😁

I thought that doctors didn't do needles. I thought that was the nurse's thing.

They started to put the needle in my hands because my veins are “nice” and visible 😭😭😭

I had both knees replaced. The senior anesthesiologist stabbed me 11 times to place my IV. He tried every location available even the foot. He was so pissed off it put surgery an hour behind schedule. I dont know what the issue was but it's left me with severe phobia of having an IV placed for any procedure. Next time it takes more than 2 sticks i will remind them of this trick. Thanks!

I love these videos but find them especially interesting because I had ALIF surgery recently. I didn't want to know before the surgery but find it all fascinating now that it's done

Several times. My veins are so sclerosed/damaged from years of PIVs for IV Benadryl(long story-IV Benadryl is an anti-inflammitory like Toradol for me, since I’m allergic to real Toradol)-Benadryl is very irritating to the veins that causes phlebitis-even the deep veins from multiple midlines/PICCS.I have a tunneled Central line-Broviac-

I hate those type of iv needles. It hurts so much when they take 'shoot' it out.

It still hurts and it's still uncomfortable

I have had nurses do this wrong. There was a time there was swelling and pain when I asked her to re do it she refused. When I showed the next nurse she re did it immediately and properly

Random question, but I have heard that if you have red hair you might need more anastasia. As a person who is a bit of a red head I’m very curious why it’s like that?

Grrrr. That happened with my last IV placement. I was already feeling like shikey, and that did *not* help.
