The original Iron Lotus was like a raging fire, bombastic, angry and powerful, but the Key Ingredient version feels like the flames have already flickered out... the warmth is disappearing, and all that's left the sadness and grief underneath. Mili is doing an amazing job at revisiting old songs and completely changing the way they feel and sound. I'm looking forward to the next Key Ingredient song!!

In strictly Ruina terms, this one makes me think of two things.
Original Iron Lotus is angry and triumphant, Xiao loudly proclaiming her intentions to her foes with nothing but rage and resolve, so this is either Distorted Xiao's theme, with the same feelings but bathed in sadness and loss instead of rage and determination, or Xiao's theme once she wins. After burning down the Library, there's nothing left. She can't bring back Lowell like this. Nothing can. Xiao takes the books of her friends and staggers into the street, without an association or a friend, with only fire to serve her.

This version sounds like Xiao crying with all her flames gone at the end of the battle. Such a different emotion with the same lyrics I love it.

If the original Iron Lotus were fiery breath + anger + passion, this is the wasteland after the fire. Much more calm, and yet hopeless and out of energy. It's so good

couldnt help but notice that while lines that were repeated twice in the original (Ex: “Why did you leave?”) were only said once here while the line “You’re my everything” was repeated twice here when it was only sung once in the original. this rendition really emphasized the regret and despair Xiao experienced.

keep up the good work, Mili!

まだ、シャオは燃えてるよ。
確かにオリジナルより弱い炎だけど
確かに燃えてる。
曲調が、状況が変わっても変わらない想いの炎を感じる。

Chinese part translation:
1:13 Huameitang(話梅糖): a Chinese candy flavored with preserved plums (話梅). It has a sweet, sour, and slightly salty taste, combining sugar with the tangy essence of dried plums. The candy can be hard or chewy, often used to freshen the mouth or aid digestion. Popular in Chinese-speaking regions, it is enjoyed for its unique balance of flavors

2:16 CanXiang(殘香): literally means "lingering fragrance" or "fading scent." It refers to a scent that remains after the source is gone, often evoking nostalgia or a sense of transience. It can describe the fading aroma of incense, flowers, food, or even metaphorically represent lingering emotions or memories.

2:45 Naitang(奶糖): It's the Rabbit name here, Usually is a milk candy, a type of sweet made with milk, sugar, and sometimes butter for a rich, creamy taste. It can be soft and chewy or hard, depending on the recipe. Popular in China and many other regions, some well-known varieties include White Rabbit and Mongolian milk candy. It is enjoyed for its smooth texture and sweet milky flavor.

3:21 Maiyatang(麥芽糖): or maltose syrup, is a traditional sweetener made from malted grains, usually barley or wheat, and glutinous rice. It has a thick, sticky texture and a mildly sweet taste. Commonly used in Chinese cuisine, it serves as a sweetener, glaze, or filling for snacks and pastries. It is also eaten as a chewy candy by pulling and stretching it.

_"Isn't ironic"_

The little laugh at the start like laughing at her stupid past-self is truly wonderful. To me, i really feel the emotions as Cassie deliver the song for each word

I felt shivers when I heard the “you’re my everything” line repeat twice, I feel like this line was super important for many reasons, one being that it’s not repeated twice in the original and two being because no other line in this version repeats twice and three being because it seems to be the line that captures a majority of xiao’s emotions

원곡이 거친 화염이고 모든 것을 쓸어버리고도 남을 불꽃이라면 이 편곡은 모든 것을 태우고 남은 잔불같다. 아직 더 태우고 싶지만 태울 장작이 없는 잔불

"Greed is unlimited, freedom is limited", for some reason I have never heard this lyric in the original. It for some reason hits so incredibly hard in this version of the song where the tempo so completely different

This version is like the lover leaving their partner, in a balladic, striong yet absolutely done way...like they're burntout from the pain

The original mix is truly the embodiment of "Tonight, a star of the city will fall". Anger and hope.

This mix is like when Xiao actually succeeded and brought the Star of the City down. Sadness and peace.

With all due respect, I am glad that Mili considered their work on Library Of Ruina's OST important enough that they remade not one, but two of the game's song for their anniversary album.

that ending part, I had never know a human voice could sound like an instrument that much

Normally, albums releases aren't something that particularly excites me.
But considering how I replayed world execute me (key ingredient ver) at least 50 times over the past week, and how I already adore this is version, this is going to be the exception that proves my rule.

I'm obsessed with how the line "you're my everything" was the only line to get repeated in this version; it wasn't even repeated in the original song. It's so heart wrenching and beautiful to me
