Just got to love town.

_I now realize why we don’t talk about love town._

Some looked horrified down the stage

My favorite part of this song is seeing comments from people who know nothing about Project Moon who are just like, “this song is so innocent yet heartbreaking, the lyrics convey the idea of a toxic relationship between two young lovers so beautifully, ” and then without fail all of the replies are from people explaining that the lyrics are completely literal and this song is actually about a flesh train

"Blood is thicker but the drink I prefer is water."

This. This is why Mili is the best.

I love out of context this song just sounds like someone hesitant to get married before later regretting it when they eventually agreed. In context though... lets just say they "got together" a bit differently than marriage.

Before LoR: is this about a mafia family or something? Co dependent toxic love?

After LoR: yep, let's not remember that and just enjoy the song

"yes im the brave boi" funniest lyric in this depressing song

"Oh, a nice-sounding song about love and regret after committing to it fully."
*looks up the actual context*
*finds out who "mommy" is, what are the train and vehicle about, what's the deal with being one, and all quite actually literal meaning to the lyrics*

Man, Mili and ProjectMoon are made for each other.

Tommy and Merry love each other so much they're practically inseparable.

I totally didn't expect such a soft, melodic song like this to be a battle theme lol

Oh god, my boyfriend was playing some LoR songs for me before I got far into the game, and I said this song reminded me of Christmas music.

I just finished Love Town, and I don’t think anything I said has ever aged this poorly

There's something really entertaining about seeing the handful of innocent comments from people who haven't played Ruina yet and seeing a bunch of people who have be all like "LOVE TOWN LOVE TOWN WE DON'T TALK ABOUT LOVE TOWN LMAO"

I do love that this song still holds weight outside the context of LoR, since you can easily interpret it as about the footfalls of a romantic relationship and how it can grow toxic due to internal and external influences (familial/societal pressures, rushing for marriage etc, etc)

But as someone who played the game it's still very sad and terrifying due to the characters attached to this song and what happened to them....

"Feeding on each other", "The drink I prefer is water".
If you think about it, inside the dimensional train, everyone became unconditionally immortal. They had no need for eating, sleeping, or even drinking... Which means, they started to feed on each other out of boredom (Madness?), and once the water ran out, the only liquid available was blood. In other words, if you wanted to drink or eat something inside that hellish interdimensional tram (Even if you don't need to), your only source was other passengers... And there is something else, it was explained that even if everyone was immortal, they still could feel pain, eternally, so... Those devoured people could have been still conscious inside of their devourer's stomaches, even if they were already tiny little pieces of flesh. Library of Ruina took the horror presented back on Lobotomy Corporation to the next level.

We don't talk about Love Town.

"I know I agreed to this myself"
"I wish it was their fault"
"Now I regret"
"Wish we were dead"
"Before we started feeding on each other"

I was not ready. I knew something about love town memes, but this whole segment was a lot more horrifying than what I was expecting. A story of love so strong, that even after they became a mesh of inhumane flesh and thoughts mixed together, the moment their half died, they went berserk remembering the love they held for each other.

So after recently discovering Mili, this video gets uploaded, so I take a listen and of course its good, but I start seeing murmurs in the comments about some deeper context, so I look up Love Town, and am promptly introduced to an absolute existential nightmare. I listen to the song again, but this time the existential dread is REAL. At that moment I decide that I NEED ANSWERS, so I look up Library of Ruina, learn about Lobotomy Corporation, watch a shit ton of videos on both, and I have to say, I'm a big fan.

So today I come back again for my daily dose of dread and delight, when I notice something, and this might have been obvious to everyone else but it took me a while.

There are clearly two different voices at the beginning, but once the song reaches the "we are one" section, the voices are combined and layered for the rest of the song

That is until we get to the final section, where they separate again, which corresponds pretty nicely to what happens in the fight when the boss reaches low health.

Not to mention how it ends with "Forget". That's some deepest lore.

It really is the little things that make a song into a masterpiece.

Honestly, more than almost anything, I love how normal this can sound out of context. There are a couple of "wait, what?" moments, but it mostly passes by normally. Kind of like the train itself, until, well, I'm sure you know by now.

MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

I think what really breaks my heart about Love Town is while it's true, everyone reverts back to normal at the end of it, Tomerry left the train. They won't go back to normal because they won't be there to be changed back. They entered the library and thus, left the train entirely. Hell, the train probably arrived at it's destination during Love Town's fight. Which means they died Tomerry. They died having forgotten each other, having forgotten their love. It makes me tear up because after nearly two thousand years, they never did get to go on that date Merry wanted. I can't even say they found peace, because what peace was left for them? They're entire being were destroyed and wiped away, leaving behind a sick and twisted version of what they were. This fight hit me hard...

Who’d have thought that the most horrific boss in the series wasn’t even an abnormality.
