Fake call centre busted in Gurugram; 9 arrested

A joint team of CM flying squad and Gurugram police busted a fake call centre late last night and nabbed nine accused, including two Delhi residents who own this fake call centre, said police.

The fake call centre was allegedly duping US nationals on pretext of providing 9,000 to 34,000 dollarsgrantand deducting 200 to 1,600 dollars from their Google cards in Crypto currency. Police have recovered Rs 1.5 lakhs cash, four laptops and 3 CPUfrom their possession. An FIR has been registered at cybercrime police station under Sections of cheating and IT act.

Many years ago I joined this so called call centre without knowing the business nature. I was in college and just wanted to make some money. 2 days on the job I got to know the nature of it and I immediately quit it without giving notice. There was something I didn't like at all about it. My conscience didn't allow it. Fortunately the call center got shut down after few days.

I live in Canada and I receive 3 to 4 calls on average in a week about my unpaid taxes and some other crimes. These assholes fool some seniors and get a money out from their pocket. Shame on these frauds.

It is a shame that this goes on in our country. When I think of scams, I think Nigeria and other such countries. I don't want my country have any association with scammers.
