UPS Drivers Test Arrival Van for the First Time | ARRIVAL

Arrival and UPS have been working together to design the best possible electric vehicle for drivers.

We recently took our prototype Van to the UPS depot in Camden, London for UPS drivers to give feedback on the vehicle for the very first time. It is vitally important, even at this early stage, that we take the opinion of drivers on board to ensure the best driver experience possible and will continue to work with UPS to do that throughout the process.

I was a postman for a decade, this would have been fantastic. Hopefully Royal Mail get involved too.

Congratulations Arrival. Stay honest and never stretch the truth just to sell a product. High respect!

1:09 the driver is the customer - Arrival gets it! (says a freelance software testing guy)

I’m going to miss hearing the truck then hearing the door open and close. All that new package anticipation

All “last mile” delivery trucks should be electric. EVs are so much more efficient for stop and go driving.

Nice looking vehicle and pleased the drivers are having input on its design/configuration. It’s taken a long time to arrive, I remember back in the 80’s at National Carriers Bristol and the sister company Roadline testing electric vans and being disappointed when they didn’t take it forward.

Its smart to get input from front line staff. My respect for companies taking this approach!

Great stuff. There’s no doubt the near future is for vehicles like this - but I like that you are also taking the opportunity to rethink the solution from the ground up and make a better experience for the drivers as well.

Brilliant! They get to test the vans to prove how well they work to arrive to the area of delivery but never actually deliver, great stuff, keep it up!

When they first said Camden, I thought New Jersey USA. 😆
Then I heard the driver's voice. Of course not!
There's no way this is happening here (today)

I have worked as a delivery driver, lifting much heavier goods at least 25kg, than just small boxes or packages for UPS. We had no shelving or technology, even sack truck. They are very lucky to have such a vehicle and even better that it’s purpose built and electric. Much smoother and more efficient.

Gotta get in it and test it out. My boss had me check out a prototype pizza restaurant they were building. I was there 10 mins and I noticed the drive thru window was so small you couldn’t get a large pizza thru it. Lol.

You need input from the package loaders as well.

I worked for UPS for a season a saw a huge benefit to making the trucks electric. So much stop and go on one street. Can't wait to see these on the road. I also like that they see the driver as the customer. The DRIVER is the one using the vehicles.
