European's on TikTok Won't Shut Up About America

It’s kind of funny because I’ve noticed that when somebody criticizes America, Americans are usually not defensive at all about their country. but when you criticize a European about their country, they get super pissy and defensive.

It’s not just Europeans. I’ve had a Canadian tell me I have an “American centric” view on something. I was literally discussing a social issue that occurs in my hometown, which is in AMERICA. OF COURSE THINGS WON’T BE THE SAME IN A SMALL RURAL AMERICAN TOWN AS THEY ARE IN VANCOUVER.

My sister is studying abroad in Europe and she can’t even bring up ONE little thing about America without someone mentioning how awful and stupid it is. It’s like an itch they have to scratch if they don’t share their opinion and call us “dumb, obese, gun obsessed, peasants.”
