I grew up on a farm. When we lost an animal we could wait a couple of days to locate it by watching for the vultures …..so yes, they do circle over carcasses.

I was taking a walk one day and saw one sitting on a guardrail. I was shocked at the size of them, they are quite large. Pretty cool bird.
