A large portion of our profits goes to charities.

Allosaurus was a large bipedal predator. Its skull was large and equipped with dozens of sharp, serrated teeth. It averaged 9.5 metres (31 ft) in length, though fragmentary remains suggest it could have reached over 12 m (39 ft). Relative to the large and powerful hindlimbs, its three-fingered forelimbs were small, and the body was balanced by a long and heavily muscled tail. It is classified as an allosaurid, a type of carnosaurian theropod dinosaur. The genus has a complicated taxonomy, and includes an uncertain number of valid species, the best known of which is A. fragilis. The bulk of Allosaurus remains have come from North America's Morrison Formation, with material also known from Portugal and possibly Tanzania. It was known for over half of the 20th century as Antrodemus, but a study of the copious remains from the Cleveland-Lloyd Dinosaur Quarry brought the name "Allosaurus" back to prominence and established it as one of the best-known dinosaurs.

Ceratosaurus was a carnivorous theropod dinosaur in the Late Jurassic period (Kimmeridgian to Tithonian). This genus was first described in 1884 by American paleontologist Othniel Charles Marsh based on a nearly complete skeleton discovered in Garden Park, Colorado, in rocks belonging to the Morrison Formation. The type species is Ceratosaurus nasicornis.

So what do you reckon? Was the T.rex fluffy?

Eh, I wouldn't care if he had feathers or not. T-Rex is still a great dinosaur no matter what.

"Cute and fluffy or scaly and badass?"
Not getting any sense of bias here, nope. Por que no los dos?

Unfortunately, gigantism doesn't cut it in explaining a lack of feathers. Feathers do not insulate heat like fur does. Instead, they can easily expel heat.

As for the new skin discoveries, the majority of the new skin is small in relation to the body size and lacks an official placement in many cases of the patches; it's total guesswork where some of the skin goes. For instance, one patch is thought to have originated from the torso, but scientists don't quite know *where* on the torso. Does it go along the dorsum were feathers were previously thought to have existed, or does it go on the underbelly where feathers were not thought to have previously existed?

As for the patches that do own distinct placement, they are found in either areas already known to not have feathers (like the tail, throat, and legs) and/or in areas extremely near said locations. As such, it remains a complete possibility and likelihood that T.rex had feathers.

Also feathered dinosaurs are still scary and even if they weren’t that’s because they’re animals, this is what people seem to forget.

The skin samples being referenced were concluded to mean certain parts of its body were not feathered, however it is still likely to be feathered. This is coming from the study that was all over Twitter which by the way, which was blown out of proportion and the news sources being referenced even contradicted the study.

Oh so a tiny bit of scales was found so that means it's COMPLETELY covered in them?

Tyrannosaurus was definitely feathered, and I don't feel like getting in a debate so don't reply anyone..

The adult tyrannosaurus wasn’t completely feathered. The baby tyrannosaurus are completely feathered but lost half of the feathers as they matured. The only areas with feathers on the adult tyrannosaurus are the head, neck, torso, arms and tail.

“Is t-rex feathered”
Answer is *NOPE!*
Feathers can overheat a big dinosaur
So feathers only be found in t-rex babies and adult t-rex only have scales because t-rex loses feathers as they grow until they don’t need feathers anymore as a full grown t-rex
Like in the New documentary: Prehistoric planet
Its depicted baby rex had feathers and adult rex have scales

Simply, NO
They thought the rex had feathers but soon realised it was wrong. I never believed them, because I don't want our great rexy having feathers. If they ever make a dinosaur like JP and JW i will manually remove the feathers.

He carried out the “first detailed descriptions of Tyrannosaurus skin” by closely analyzing the new fossils. The findings were published June 7 in Biology Letters.

“The greater ability of larger tyrannosaurids to maintain a constant body temperature may have outweighed the advantages of insulation by a more pressing need to shed heat, ” he said.

The idea T-Rex was feathered was fuelled by the discovery of Yutyrannus Huali five years ago in China.

Despite weighing 1.5 tons, the fearsome predator had feathers, a discovery which added weight to the theory its famous cousin must also have had them.

Another dinosaur called Dilong, an early member of the tyrannosauroids that includes T-Rex, although much smaller, is known to have feathers.

Bell said big animals like elephants and rhinos typically have relatively little hair because they risk overheating.

My best guess is they do have feathers and their blood helped them avoid overheating. Some research shows that dinosaurs were kind of between warm blood and cold blood.

Also i'm pretty sure no one who believes T.rex had feathers thinks it was covered and was fluffy, that's a bit crazy.

First I have to think of the climate 65 million years ago will it support feathers or scales second T-Rex is a evolutionary bird who is a theropod and not a lizard.

I think rexy COULD have feathers, but not fully covered by What I'm trying to say is that rex could have them only in a few parts of his body, but mostly scaly.... And just like Mega Top Tens said: elephants and rihnos are big and have a ver small amount of hair because their gigant body already makes them feel warm, and they don't need much hair. ( but hey that's just my opinion, everyone can think diffrent, btw sorry for bad English, Im from Poland :) )
