Be calm is one if the ways Navy Seals and Marines are taught to be calm during stress. Be. Calm. It clears your head

Go straight to sleep because that might be the last full night of sleep you get. Clear mind in the morning refreshed and ready to go

This video covers what I call the 5 "gets."
1. Get safe
2. Get loved ones
3. Get info
4. Get "stuff" (gas, batteries etc.)
5. Get secure
Thanks CP

People thought I was crazy letting them know what was on sale. They completely ignored me. When the pandemic hit. They started calling me saying they don't have anything. They had no food or water. Never let anyone know what you have. We have all of our doors reenforced and the windows have special cover's we can put up in a hurry. The curtains when closed you can't see in our house. Everyone stay prepared.

In all honesty, when the grid go's down, we'll find ourselves back in the stone age, it's going to be a mind blowing event

A US Navy SEAL once said: You already lost the fight if you are out of shape.
Stay healthy and learn some self defense techniques now that things are normal and also learn some survival techniques there is a lot of stuff online ( thousands of videos and books to learn from) that way when the SHTF you will survive on minimum gear, you will be light and can escape quickly. Fill your head with knowledge now and you won’t need to carry soooo many items on you. The SHTF will happen it’s just a matter of time.

Don’t forget, you have a hot water heater that stores 50 gallons or more.

After living in Texas and having experienced a destructive Tornado we know all about grabbing our bug out bags..our advise to subscribers is be ready..and make sure you get clothes and boots on during severe weather. We see to many bare foot an half naked during emergencies.please pass this on.

Check out the book, "One Second After." It's fiction about what will happen after a major EMP. Newt Gingrich cited this book in Congress to warn of what could happen because the book was so accurate as to how things could unfold. It's also been said that this book accelerated the prepper movement. There are two sequels to the book; they're all good. What the American people find out at the end of the third book will make you mad because it's probably exactly true how average Americans would be sold out. It was somewhat of a comfort somehow to read about what people came up with to survive. You will learn a lot and it will change the way you prep.

I've already done one of the most important thing--put a $1 flash light (Dollar Tree) in every room, and one hooked to my purse. It provides enough light to feel safe and begin more advanced preparations.

I would cover MOST of my windows before breaking out my supplies so nobody sees what I have

During the ice storm of 2009, we were stuck "bugging in" without electric for 2 weeks. Although the water never completely died, it sputtered a bunch. It was cold and we had no supplies, no way to heat beyond the tiny kerosene heater that was low on fuel, and no way to cook for 5 children. No income obviously as I had no electric to work at home. We used the kerosene heater to cook soup for the kids and ate as much as possible straight from the can. Since then we have a big beautiful wood stove that heats water and warms the home and cooks. We now have a larger stock of food. Our washer and dryer are electric, but I also have a clothes line and a hand washer.

First thing I'm doing is thanking the Lord I don't have to go in to work anymore and I'm not joking.

Those are all good suggestions. There is a great book out there (can't remember title exactly because it was 15 years ago when I read it) Titled WTSHTF - I tried to be prepared with all of those ideas way back then (not bad for a girl). But now I am "medically fragile" and dependent on a wheelchair, which I don't think was meant for outdooring. I would NEVER want anyone to put their safety at risk to come help save me. I have a stockpile that could probably last me about 1 month as I try to shelter in place on my own. If I stock up more on water I could easily last at least 3 or 4 months more, bar medical complications. I have at least 3 months of medicines, and a lot of OTC things that could be required, but at some point I think an ethical decision sits on MY shoulders. If I'm too sick and broken to help myself I can't expect others to. I have my exit route planned if worse came to worse. If we want to be prepared, we need to be prepared for everything.

For all disasters, its always shelter in place. That is where every disaster prep item is located. This stuff wont fit in the car. I have not been in a position where I have to decide whether it might be better to leave the house. It never is bug out time. That has included: Ice storm 98, northeast regional blackouts 2003, various Hurricanes, various blizzards. A hardened shelter is the best place to be.

Thank you! As someone who is disabled, I truly appreciate others stopping to help me. It proves to me that good people are still out there. I would want someone to stay and help me out, but if it's too late, and there isn't time, then please save yourself and don't carry guilt. Guilt doesn't help the person that died, and it doesn't help you. You may not have saved that person, but you would still be here to save another. Heros are rare, but we certainly love them ❤ 💕 💖

Have a backup plan if you're depending on someone else for your survival. My daughters dad, an avid hunter and money maker, dropped dead unexpectedly at her wedding yesterday just when they called the father daughter dance. We were out in the sticks and it took 15 minutes for the ambulance to arrive. Even though we had 2 nurses and a military medic at the wedding there was no reviving him. You never know when the person you are depending upon for your survival won't be there anymore. Plan accordingly, be as self sufficient as possible.
