Fun fact: We were asked to design a tournament scheduling problem in the semester exams, for the OOPS paper. That too using C, (no classes, only structures) and I was left with 10 minutes to complete the problem. (Of course, it was a simpler version of this, but felt like a nightmare during the exam.)
