Tesla Vision in FSD Beta 9 Traffic Test

preview_player
Показать описание
This test was to explore the capabilities of Tesla Vision and #FSDbeta under a route I've ran previously but in the day time and with the added variable of traffic. We tested left turns, right turns, residential, and roundabouts.

Fun fact. Scrolling volume “gives input to the wheel” so you don’t have to jiggle it for future videos. You can also scroll a mile per hour up and down for autopilot speed to give input. I like to go +1mph -1mph immediately and it doesn’t affect speed

Tesla handled the runabout better than 90% of US Drivers would.

4:14 The vision seeing a truck pulling a semi was just funny to me

Next time, instead of cutting between shots, you should consider to fast forward the video so people know you didn't edit out any disengagements or whatever.

Simply amazing technology. This man has the nerves of a fighter pilot.

Impressive driving, impressive visualisations, impressive progress but someway to go before I let that onto my 3 here in the UK :D Different road rules aside, this wouldn't work here in the UK.

3:04 - indicating left from a right hand lane on a roundabout is an awesome way of inciting road rage / people thinking you can't drive.

Now I get that it's because it knows it wants to do a lane change after the first roundabout but no other car (or pedestrian!) around you knows that. It's like the car is saying 'I want to move into the left lane' but completely forgetting that it's in the middle of doing something else, during which use of the indicator needed to shift lanes actually means 'I'm going left on the roundabout'.

I bet the vehicle behind you 3:09 in that left lane was ready for you / almost expecting you to cut across the front of them on the roundabout. It's literally what the car is indicating you're going to do after all!

It needs to complete the first manoeuvre (aka get off the roundabout) THEN signal left to make the lane change. If my car did this in the UK with a police car behind me (and they could be bothered... !) I'd be having a chat with the officer at the side of the road about my driving shortly afterwards :|

Impressive. It’s already that good and can only improve. Brilliant 👏🏻

Hey that's where I accepted delivery. Didn't realize we were in the same neck of the woods haha. Thanks for showing the roundabouts!

5:05 at first glance this may no look like much but is by far the most impressive thing I have seen FSD do, it handle that scenario so well. Just watched that again, at the end it is tracking 19 cars and 3 pedestrians, amazing.

I appreciate you doing this and sharing. However, from a developer standpoint I think you should be a little more patient and see what the car was going to do. We as humans tend to be impatient. A computer does not understand a ‘perceived need to go right now’. It waits for the condition(s) to be met. Again, thank you. 👍🏻

5:19 for me this was the most impressive. Not that complicated compared to others but still.

Great video! 👏🏻 Would love to see some difficult scenarios in the next video, like handling complex parking lots, tight turns and overtaking cars/construction zones ☺️

FANTASTIC. GM has left to go ask their supercruise team “Why are we still scanning roads and not chiming at green lights?”

Great vid! Like how he’s careful but still gives the car the opportunity to figure things out. I’ve seen other Beta testers take over a bit too early

To me, this is more stressful then driving myself. I’d constantly be on alert if it made a wrong turn or did something sporadically (which has been shown on other tests). Glad to see people are paying to use this to give Tesla more information and make it ready as a true driverless car. But still a ways off.

That last test, you said you wanted it to go left, but it entered the round about in the rt lane which legally could only go straight through or right....so it would have been illegal for it to change to the left lane and exit left. Error....entered the round about in the wrong lane.
