WOW How simple once shown! You could make them from dowel stock, Thank you for this ingenious trick. I have dowel centers, but this would allow dowels made for almost any drill size... Thanks again, and a very nicely presented video.

Hi man, Nicely made! When drilling the hole for the nails to glue in, was it centered 'enough' for tranferring the dowel positions?

In other terms, was your marking and drilling tolerance sufficient for the dowel centers?

Excellent idea!
Using the smaller plug cutter first without going through the wooden block and then switching to the biggest, would have kept everything centered, I believe... would've been easier also.
Will certainly make some of these :)

But: what are that special drill bits you used? I've never seen that kind before? How are they called? Where to buy them?
Only imperial measures or also metric? (the latter is much better for me)
