As an interior designer my biggest concern about design trends is when people choose things that are trendy instead of functional. Design your space to work with your lifestyle. No matter how good it looks or how trendy it is you will not be happy with it in the long run if it makes your life more complicated.

As a Real Estate agent, in my area, if a house is painted in dark moody colors it takes twice as long to sell. Buyers seem to respond most to light, bright homey spaces. Room colors that compliment and give a cohesive vibe (without being saturated) throughout the house definitely seem to be the “thing” that wows buyers.

Peach, no thanks. Got over that in the 90s

I personally don’t follow trends when it comes to architecture and wall colors. It’s not financially feasible for us to change the big things every time the trends change. I still think a neutral paint color is timeless. I can always change the pillows, bedding, decor, etc to achieve color trends if I want.

I had the brown and burgundy look for almost 2 decades. I have been on the neutral bandwagon since 2020. Love the neutral with a pop of color here and there.

Honestly, I waited out the gray, white and farmhouse trend… My home is back in style ❤

Just my opinion, but I don’t care for the dark burgundy. It makes the room look too dark and oppressive to me. I think it will quickly go out of style. I think the English cottage style is gorgeous. ❤

Personally, focus walls really work in our home. The color pop creates movement and interest. I may not be trendy but my home is happy and cozy.

I appreciated how this video didn't just showcase trends but explained the reasoning behind each one. It's like having a personal interior designer giving advice, and the before-and-after examples made it easy to visualize how these trends can transform any living space.

I love that your spaces look timeless and elegant without slavishly following the trends. Good taste never goes out of style.

I love my accent wall. Love my wood cherry kitchen cabinets. Wouldn't change for any mentioned alternatives.

My high-school-aged daughter painted her room burgundy ten years ago. I've hated since day one. Good luck on that trend lasting more than a minute.

About 10 years ago I painted my den all deep plum and I absolutely loved it.

The video wasn't just about fancy design jargon; it broke down the top trends into simple ideas and I found myself nodding along, thinking, I can totally do that in my home. Much Thanks!

English cottage has never gone out of style. It transcends decor, it's a lifestyle

Wow my chocolate brown sofa is back in. Who knew? And I never did the grey thing and now my warm light beige walls are back in

Happy to hear chocolate brown is in! I already have it thru my house bc I’ve always loved brown. It was also my bridesmaids’ dresses color.

I decorate with things I like, not what someone tells me to do. Your home should reflect you personally not what everyone else -has. With that I do look at things that come out and incorporate items I like.

Kristen, I have followed you from the times you lived with your parents and was showing us how to update apartments or small spaces to today when telling us about trends. I just wanted to say from my point of view you are doing an excellent job. Wishing you a Happy New Year.
