Hi Shane. Another great video!
I shoot a lot of both video and photos, and a useful setting I learned quite recently is "CreativeVideo Combined Set" under the cogwheel settings, bottom of the 2nd page. If you set Picture Profile to the video icon, you can separate your photo and video picture profiles. Why would someone want to do this? For photos, I usually like to use the Standard profile for natural looking colors. But when I'm shooting video, I almost always want to shoot in V-log for the flexibility it gives in editing. Before using the CreativeVideo Combined Set, I would always need to switch picture profiles when I switched between photo and video modes (unless I set it to a Custom mode).
Seems like the CreativeVideo Combined Set option doesn't get a lot of attention, so hope this might be useful to others.

Very helpful video, thanks! Do you have luts that you would recommend? Looking for the best place to find a pack of luts to load onto my GH7!

I have Zebras set up with all my Panasonic cameras. As I shoot in Log I have the zebras at two settings.
80% for almost everything gun and run
50% for filming head shots, if I ever get round to them.

Just like you, I have the Waveform assigned to a custom button. However, I have it set up on a button at the front of the camera, next to the lens but it’s horses for coarses. The waveform and zebras are a must, for me.

Hi Shane. Thank you for this great lumix content. Keep up the great work! I just wanted your opinion on something. I am an owner of a gh5 and I am using a metabones speedbooster (Canon EF Lens to Micro Four Thirds T Speed Booster XL 0.64x) and all of my 3 lenses are Ef. I am considering upgrading to a S5iix and not a gh7 which a more reasoned choice I guess. I have seen footage from both cameras and I can say that I like the image quality of S5iix a bit more. However that means that I have to find another adapter to use my Ef lenses (probably the sigma mc-21). What do you think about this? Is it worth or should I stick to the gh series? I saw that with this adapter the auto focus system works pretty well too compared to the gh7 and the metabones speedbooster. I am mentioning that because having this auto focus system working properly is a really a major factor for me to consider for my next camera and also to utilize my Ef lenses at the same time.

First thing I do is increase the number of custom settings on C3 (on the G9-II) or C4 (on the GH6/7) to 10. It's strange this isn't default.
I also set custom mode only reload to it's original settings if I change to a different custom mode but not when the camera is shut off. When I use a video custom mode, I often do changes for the exposure and AF settings and then I don't want the camera to reset the custom mode when I turn it off for a while.
Also, if a function like AE-lock is assigned to a button it can't be assigned to something else by pressing it longer because AE-lock is a function that needs the button to be pressed as long as you want to lock AE. So in this case, you have to go to the menu.

I’m thinking of picking up a G9 ii at my local store today. All because of you. I notice my turn around time of clips with my Sony work flow is way to long. I can see where open gate can speed things up for basketball clips/highlights. I’m scared the low light places I have will be the new challenge. What fast glass would you recommend poor lit basketball? If you have a video point me to it

Shutter angle is fantastic BUT you don't want to have it on all the time if you're shooting indoors, as the wrong shutter will cause bands on your video when there's a mismatch between shutter and lights/mains frequency. Indoors, you should have it set to 1/50 or 1/60 (whatever your mains/power frequency is). Outdoors, absolutely 180 degrees for the best look.
