It's sad that I'm a first year millennial (82) and that's how people see us. I've been working my ass off doing manual labor since I was 13. In 27 years I've only been unemployed for 5 months combined. Maybe it's because I had parents that taught me that nothing is free in life. You work and earn everything in life. I never received a trophy for just showing up, if we lost a game, we lost fair and square, gave us motivation to try harder next game.

Sadly this depicts the current world we live in where the people generally of a certain age just don't take responsibility for their actions.... Madness - Great vid

As humorous as this is...customer service is going in the tank, not to mention competent help.

My oldest nephew is a millennial, and nothing like this girl. However, my youngest nephew is a proud Gen Zer, and proud of it, and is identical to her, and a lot of his Gen Z friends.

Haha. I sent this to my 24 year old niece. She was offended and is not speaking to me. I am not joking. Snowflakes can not take a joke. Geesh.

The "slip into phone world" is real!
I work with a male version of her.
I can be standing face to face talking to him and he'll litterally stop talking mid sentence, pull out his phone and start texting....its quite surreal, I've pulled him up on it before and it's like he has to come out of some other reality like "huh? Wa what?"

The way I see it is like this.

She is not a millennial, that generation stretches between the early 1980s through to the mid 1990s. The oldest of the millennials are now in their early 40s with the youngest approaching their 30s.

She is Generation Z.

What is being portrayed is out there for sure and is on the increase, I’m fortunate as the last of the boomer generation to be early retired, in my last job I saw amongst younger people in the workforce an element of ill discipline in the work place and poor work ethic, but not all of them are like that for sure. There are plenty of young people who are seeing the issue as well, they are not stupid.

The root of the problem goes back a long way (to my mind at least), even before the boomer generation. There were those returning from WW2 having witnessed the horrors of war who genuinely wanted to make the world a better place than the one they grew up in. Don’t forget that was the generation whose parents went through WW1 and they all went through the Great Depression so there would have been a strong desire to ensure their children and grandchildren (us) would never have to go through that.

So with the best of intentions that is what they set out to do and passed it to the next generation.

Unfortunately it has become a monster which has got out of control and has been hijacked by a small but highly influential intellectual elite that has the ear of governments which has created a society which is all about rights without responsibility, which prizes and places its youth on a pedestal instead of nurturing and encouraging them to take their place as responsible citizens.

It will change for sure but not for a long time, the worst I fear is yet to come..

We are the ones who have created the problem, we have done our youth a terrible disservice, it’s up to us to try and put it right before it’s too late..

All of this of course is merely my opinion.

The only thing missing was her texting while driving on the way to the interview.

Arrive to that job at 8 AM? Shiiit, 7:30 AM is the time you’ll see me coming in through the door. Getting to the job early allows me to get a sense of the days tasks before the shift. In theory anyway.

What you don't see is her submitting a complaint to the company about her traumatic interview experience and then him being fired the next day for meanism.

As a Millennial I need to give a point, our generation has been based on rights and no responsabilities, but there is also because the system told us a lie, they told us that if we study like 10 years we are going to have the right of a good salary and a dream life. And that is not how life works.

We need to rescue the value of effort and work and stop asking for 1000 titles and search for willingness to learn and work

Oh my god … like totally. So good. Who thought going back to uni in my 50’s would now be a world like this . 2000 + little critters in one confined area of space. Look for exits and keep your space to yourself … free. No chance… it’s like a sci fi fiction film with endless chatter and turned up to the max. I miss my tribe … you know the ones… they speak the queens English .. they allow 1/2 meter of space around you at all times… they have conversations … not monologues or dialogues … they notice others exist and act accordingly… they allow quiet spells of silence to happen … “where have all the un woke people gone … long time passing” .
